-Always Momma

In the lands of Navajo Nation, little Khloe lived in a cozy adobe house in the beauty of the desert. The wind whispering through the sagebrush and the vibrant sunsets that painted the sky.

One morning, her father announced they were moving to a small town far away. Khloe's heart sank. She felt a mix of sadness and fear. The thought of leaving her friends, her home, and the familiar lands was hard to imagine.

As the moving truck drove into her new home, Khloe peered out the window, taking in the unfamiliar sights. The streets were lined with houses, each one different from hers.

She couldn’t keep from feeling that she didn’t belong. Looking out the window, she saw kids playing outside. Khloe's heart sank as she remembered her own friends from the reservation.

On her first day at school, Khloe felt very uneasy and scared. The hallways busy with chatter, and the lunchroom was filled with children and noise. She held her lunchbox tight, unsure of where to sit.

The other kids looked her way, whispering and giggling. Khloe's cheeks flushed with red; she dreamed of being back at her old school, where everyone knew her.

Days turned into weeks, and Khloe struggled with making friends. She missed her old home and the stories her grandmother would tell her every night. One day, during art class, her teacher assigned a project focused on family heritage.

Khloe decided to share her Navajo culture so that others may get to know her. She drew a beautiful picture of her family and explained the significance of the clothes, hair and land.
