To my parents for always supporting me.

“Leander!” Edward called, “Wait up! Why do we have to camp all the way out here in this forest?”
“We can finally escape the city and relax. Now hurry up. We’re almost at the campsite.” Leander called back.
“We must rest. I need to hit the hay,” Edward panted.
“Sure! Let’s set camp here in this large, woody clearing. It is evening and getting dim,” Leander exclaimed.
The two friends took off their heavy backpacks and unloaded some energy bars and a tent. Edward gobbled up every last crumb of his energy bar. They set camp and decided to start a blazing fire to keep warm. “After all, it can be 30-40 degrees at night,” Edward stated.
“In that case you can help me get wood to feed the fire,” Leander said.
“Fine,” Edward sighed.
Soon it was dinnertime and stars shone brightly. They ate a pepperoni sandwich for dinner and prepared for bed.
Just before the pair was going to bed a pair of yellow eyes appeared around the clearing. “What are those?” Edward whispered.
“ I have no idea,” Leander replied, “But get some flashlights. We need to check this out. ”
Edward threw a flashlight to him and Leander cautiously stepped out. Rustle. Leander looked around the clearing. The trees seemed to dance in the wind. Out of the woods a gray wolf pounced into the clearing and growled at Leander. Leander raced back inside the tent and told Edward about the wolf.
“Careful. Wolves hunt in packs, so more wolves could appear, ” Edward said. Leander grabbed 2 flaming branches from the fire. He handed a blazing torch to Edward and took one for himself.
“Use your torch to fend off the wolves,”Leander commanded.
“Got it.”
The two rushed out to fight the wolves. As the pair defended themselves from the wolves a wolf pounced at Leander. Leander scorched the wolf by thrusting his spear at its breast. At that moment the wolf howled in pain and 3 more wolves soon appeared out of the forest. Edward cried, “Come help!” Leander tore across the clearing to help his friend fight.
“GET AWAY! ARGGH!” Leander hollered as he waved his stick rapidly before the wolves. The wolves took a step back .
“Don’t let them bite you. A wolf bite can easily crush bones,” Edward warned Leander. The wolves promptly ran around Edward and Leander while heading for their camp.
“Quick! They are going for the food!” Edward yelled while running.
