Chapter 1
It was a warm, sunny day in April. Jess was ten years old. She had long, black hair, and the prettiest brown eyes you ever wanted to see.
"Would you like to go to the zoo today, Jess?" her mom, Sandy, asked her.
"Sure! Could we go right now? I love the zoo!" Jess gushed with cheer

Jess scurried to her room to get dressed. "Mom, are you ready yet?" she rushed her mom.
"I'm almost ready."
"Hurry up, please. I'm ready to go," Jess said respectfully.
Sandy quickly finished getting dressed and they drove to Zoovania

Chapter 2
Jess and Sandy fed the giraffes first, after they purchased their tickets. Jess laughed every time the giraffes ate out of her hand, because it tickled. She was amazed at how long a giraffe's tongue was.
"Look, Jess," her mom said. She took her picture while she was feeding the giraffes.
"Let's go to the monkey cages next, but let's get something to drink first. It's hot," Jess suggested.
"Ok. I'm thirsty too," her mom agreed.
As they proceeded to the food trucks, Jess caught a glimpse of the monkey cages. She saw a sign beside a Capuchin monkey that said Bob. Capuchins were her favorite type of monkey.
As soon as they got their slushies, Jess rushed her mom to the monkey cages. As they got closer to Bob's cage, Bob saw Jess's rainbow slushie. He grabbed onto the bars of the cage and screamed at the top of his lungs. "EEEK! EEEK!"
Jess giggled, "Hey mom, look at this monkey. I think it wants my slushie. He's so cute!" Jess said excitedly to see her favorite animal.
"His name is Bob," the attendant told Jess and Sandy.
"Can I feed him?" Jess pleaded.
"Sure, but be careful not to let him get your slushie or get out."
Jess ran to the cage. The attendant unlocked the door and gave Jess some food to give to Bob. She fed Bob. He took the food, but kept his eyes on her slushie.
"Thank you, sir," she said to the attendant.
"You're welcome," he replied as he was leaving.
"Bye, Bob!" she chimed, satisfied that she got to play with and feed her favorite monkey. She and her mom left to go explore other animals at Zoovania.

Chapter 3
As they were leaving, Jess was bouncing away happily, and bumped into the handle of the cage. The latch popped up! The attendant forgot to lock the gate.
No one noticed, until....
"OOO OOO EHH EHH"! Bob darted out of the cage, and began monkeying around. He started looking all over to find Jess, but she and Sandy had gotten lost in the crowd.
Bob began calling out to get Jess's attention. He wanted the slushie he saw in her hand at the cage. Jess was long gone.
She and Sandy were exploring the rest of the zoo, not realizing she was being followed.
Bob got really upset because he couldn't find Jess. He started jumping and climbing on all of the trees and exhibits. In the distance he finally spotted Jess and her mother Sandy. With several long jumps, he pounced on Jess's shoulder.
"AHHHH!" she shrieked. Bob slipped and grabbed her long, black hair to keep from falling.
"Ouch! Mom, help me. It's Bob! He's grabbing my hair!"
Sandy began calling for help as she attempted to get Bob. The attendant heard her and came running. Bob started trying to get the slushie out of Jess's hand.
"Hey!" Jess shrieked, shocked.
The attendant was just about to catch up with them and grab Bob, but before he could get there, Bob dashed out of his reach, causing Jess to drop her slushie.
"My slushie!" Jess squealed, as Bob grabbed the half-empty cup and scampered away.
"OOO EHH EHH!"
"Oh no!" the attendant shouted. "Come back, Bob!"
"Where did he go?" Jess said after she fixed herself back up.
"He went that way," the attendant replied, pointing.
"We'll help you find him," Jess declared, as she began searching around looking for Bob.
"Ok. Let's split up," the attendant told Jess and Sandy.
"Bob!" they all called as they split up to search. Sandy and Jess went one way, and the attendant went the other way.
No Bob. Soon they discovered where Bob had been.
