While eating breakfast, Jacob had the feeling that he had restless butterflies in his stomach just thinking about the new school he had moved to. Meaning new school. New teachers. New classes. New friends.

”Are you excited for your new school Jacob?” His mom asks.”Quite the opposite actually, I’m freaking out!” Jacob responds. “It’s okay to be nervous, but I believe that even you can be fearless.” Mom says. The big yellow school bus then stops in front of Jacob’s house. It’s time for school.

Jacob gets even more nervous as he gets on the bus leaving his safe place he calls home. Jacob tries to find a seat but he sees everyone already paired up with their friends. He sees an empty seat right in the front of the bus, he gets in, and sits alone.

At the next stop, a girl with a bright pink backpack sits next to Jacob since it’s the only seat left. She doesn’t say anything at first, but she taps her foot with her pink shoes and she breathes heavily. Jacob notices that he isn’t the only one with butterflies in his stomach.

At the school, Jacob has trouble entering his class as he sees different kids sitting down talking to each other. He finds his seat in the middle of the class and sits down. The morning was a blur for Jacob since his head was down the whole class clutching his favorite pencil on the paper drawing a dragon. It was as if he was a small little island in a very loud ocean.

Jacob looks over at the person's shoes and it looks very familiar. It’s the same girl that sat on the bus with him. “What?” Jacob says. “Your dragon, it needs some fire”. The girl responds. Jacob realizes that he has found someone with a common interest, a possible friend.

“What’s your name? The girl asks. “I’m Jacob, what about you?” Jacob responds. “I’m Molly.” She replies. They then go on and on talking about dragons for the rest of recess. Finally, Jacob has made a friend.
