I have decided! I am going to outer space to see how the planets look up close!

Comet then got on his spaceship and began his journey to outer space

Comet first visited the first planet in the solar system

MERCURY

Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system

It orbits, or goes around, the sun in 88 days!

Mercury is super hot in the daytime and freezing cold in the winter

Then he went to the second planet:

 VENUS

Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system!

Venus spins in the opposite direction unlike the other planets

After visiting Venus, he landed on the planet

EARTH

Earth is the only planet that has water!

It is the right distance from the sun allowing us to live on Earth!

It is the only planet that has living organisms

MARS

Then he flew across to Earth's neighboor;

Mars looks red because it is made up of iron oxide, same as rust. 

It has the largest volcano in the entire solar system!

Scientist have sent "rovers" to check for signs of life.

As comet flew to the next planet, he saw a huge array of rocks. 

This is know as the ASTEROID BELT. 

The asteroid belts divides the outer and inner planets.
