The Anna's Hummingbird is  small, hardy ,and  vocal  bird easily identified by the male's rose- pink throat and head

  Anna's hummingbird (Calypte  anna) thrives in diverse, often human- modified habitats across the Pacific Coast from British Columbia to Arizona and Texas .

                                    Food

Anna 's hummingbird eats flowers nectar, small insects midges, white flies,spiders ,and tree sap.

Anna's hummingbird survives cold using their feathers. It can survive freezing temperatures   with this specialized adaptation.

                                     Predators               

Anna's hummingbird predators include  Western  scrub jay,  American kestrels,  roadrunners, curve-billed thrashers, and domestic cats.
