Mike was a young astronaut who loved space.

He would look up at the sky and see the stars, moon, and sun every day.

One day, he saw trash all over the ground.

“This is not good, I don't want to live here anymore.” Mike said sadly.

Mike had an idea. 

He put on his space suit. Then he jumped into his rocket.

“I will find a new place to live!” he said.

Mike flew up into space. He looked back at Earth.

“It is my home, but it needs help,” he said.

He saw the bright, hot Sun ahead.

Mike flew closer to the Sun.“It is too hot here!” he said.

The Sun is made of fire and gas.“No one can live here, let's explore the planets then!”

Mike went Mercury first, the closest planet to the Sun.

It is very hot in the day and very cold at night.“I cannot live here,” Mike said.

Next, Mike visited Venus.

Venus has thick clouds and very hot air. It is even hotter than Mercury!

“This place is too dangerous,” he said.

Mike thought about Earth again.“Earth has air, water, and life,” he said.“But I will keep looking,” he decided.Then he flew to the next planet.

Mike landed on Mars. Mars is called the red planet. It is very cold and dry.“There is no air to breathe,” he said.
