My name is Emma, and I am going to third grade this year. I am a little nervous because I've never met my teacher before, but I told myself, “I got this,” and took three deep breaths. One, two, three! Then I packed my bag, and I said goodbye to my puppy named Nala.

At school, I saw my classroom for the first time. I was very excited that I had a nice teacher this year. When I saw my desk, I saw something strange about it. There was a secret hidden area inside my desk. One day, I put my hand in it and something pulled me into a secret room.

I didn't know what to do, so I ended up looking through the room, and suddenly I saw a person standing there waiting for me. I asked him, “What am I doing here?” He said, “We're trying to solve a mystery for a missing person that has been gone for over a decade. His name was Lucas and he went missing in 3rd grade.” I asked him, “Why do you need me to help? Don't you have multiple other people?” He said, “Because he sat at that very desk in third grade, and we think he might have left clues.”

I returned to my desk and the next day a crayon appeared in my cubby in the classroom. I wondered who put it there, but no one was around.
I drew a picture of the missing person with it, the drawing came to life and showed me a clue about where Lucas went. He was playing basketball.

I went to the basketball hoop, the exact one where he scored. Then I saw it. A handprint from the boy was on the ball he played with. There was also a janitor in the gym who rushed out. But the janitor had a hoodie on and gloves, so I couldn't tell who he was.
