Today is Jeff the polar bear's first day of school and he is very nervous. 

When Jeff walks into his classroom, he notices the other bears look very different from him.

Jeff walked up to a brown bear and a black bear. He said, “Hi, my name is Jeff.”

They started laughing at Jeff. 

The brown bear says her name is Kyra and the black bear says his name is Jacob.

Jeff asks “What are you guys laughing at?”

Kyra says, “You just look so weird.”

Jacob says, “Ya. Why is your fur white? It looks weird.”

Jeff says, “My fur isn’t weird. It’s just like yours, but mine is just white.” Then Jeff starts to cry.

The teacher, Ms. Becca, comes over and asks Jeff, “What’s wrong?”

Jeff says, “They are saying my fur looks weird.”

Ms. Becca asks, “Why do you think his fur is weird?”

Kyra says, “His fur is white and ours is black and brown so his is weird.” 

Ms. Becca says “You’re right, Jeff does have white fur but that doesn’t make him weird. Jeff is just a different type of bear than you and Jacob.” 

“Well what kind of bear are you” asks Jacob. 

“I’m a polar bear” says Jeff.
