Once upon a time, there were four dog friends: Chocolate, Pineapple, Coconut, and Pancake.

One sunny morning, they decided to go on a big trip. Chocolate wanted to go camping, but Pineapple wanted to go hiking. So, they decided to spend their first hiking day climbing a magnificent peak called China Hill.

The New Friend and the Butterfly

As they were walking, they met a friendly dog named Golden. Golden was a Golden Doodle—just like Pineapple! He joined the group to help them find the way.

A few steps later, Pancake spotted a cute little butterfly. All the friends gathered around and followed it as it led them to a colorful field of butterflies sipping nectar from flowers. One tiny butterfly had a broken wing and couldn't fly. To everyone’s surprise, the little butterfly climbed right onto Pancake! Pancake felt very special and decided to name his new pet Tag.

The Mystery of the Golden Fish

As they continued, Pineapple saw a sparkling stream. He looked closer and closer until he saw something golden swimming through the water. He called Golden over, and though they were both very smart dogs, they couldn't figure out what it was.

They called their friend Coca-Cola, the wisest dog they knew.

"It’s a goldfish!" she barked. Then, a whole school of bright blue fish swam past them. The dogs wanted to keep them as pets, but Chocolate reminded them: "We can't take them. We don't have a jar or the right water for them. They belong in the stream."

The Coconut Tree and the Beach

Feeling tired, they rested under a strange-looking tree. Chocolate asked Coconut (the dog) if she knew what it was. Just then, a dog named Coral walked by.

"That’s a coconut tree!" Coral explained.

Coconut the dog asked about the brown balls hanging from the branches. Coral showed them a coconut on the ground and said, "You have to break it open to drink from it!" She told them about a beautiful beach nearby and said goodbye.

Turtles in the Valley

When they finally reached the top of China Hill, they saw a wonderful view of the valley. On their way back down, they found a pond filled with so many fish they couldn't even count them! They also saw turtles sunbathing.

Chocolate and Golden were very curious about the turtles. They asked Coconut if they could keep one, but they realized the same thing as the fish: the turtles were happiest in their mountain home.

 A Touching Goodbye

As they walked back to the butterflies, Pancake looked at the tiny creatures and whispered, "Your wings are as beautiful as you are."

Suddenly, a butterfly that looked just like Tag flew over. Tag looked up with his big, beautiful eyes. He tried his hardest to flap his wings and fly up to join his friend, but his wing was still hurt. Tag couldn't fly.

Pancake felt a little sad, but he leaned down and let Tag stay safely on his fur. He realized that even if Tag couldn't fly, they could still be best friends and look after each other. And so, the five friends walked home together under the setting sun.
