There once was an evil creature called a Demon who made a Mirror that made everything good look small and everything ugly look big. It made the world look so strange that the Demon thought it was so much fun.
He wanted the whole world to see itself in the mirror. He flew super high but he dropped the mirror! It broke into tiny pieces that were as small as sand. But each part of the mirror was just as powerful as the mirror. Even getting a single speck in you eye would make all the good things small and all the ugly things big.
Now our story begins

Once Upon a Time
In a small village there were two best friends, Gerta and Kai. They were neighbors and loved to play together. They grew a rose garden together

They also loved to listen to stories by Kai's Grandmother. One of Grandmother's stories was about the Snow Queen. The Snow Queen was a powerful magical lady who lived far far away in the north and brought snow with her everywhere she traveled.

Kai said he wasn't scared of the Snow Queen and the kids went to play. They were playing in the forest together when Kai cried out in pain

"What is wrong? Greta asked. "Nothing" Said Kai, "It felt like something got stuck in my eye"

Something had gotten stuck in Kai's eye...It was a piece of the Demon's Mirror. To Kai, everything now looked weird. Everything good was small and everything ugly was big
This caused Kai to start acting weird

He didn't want to play with Greta and called her mean names
He didn't want to listen to his Grandmother and made fun of her.
People didn't want to hang out with Kai because he couldn't see anything good and could only see what was ugly
Greta didn't know why her friend was being so mean but it made her sad. Even though Kai didn't want to play in their rose garden or to listen to Grandmother's stories, Greta still considered him her friend.

But Kai still wasn't himself and soon it was winter.

One snowy day Kai went to play with his sled. He played a game where he grabbed onto carriages and had them pull his sled. He saw a really big carriage that was pure white and grabbed on. The sled was going really fast and the driver was dressed all in white.

The driver was the Snow Queen herself. She took Kai all the way to her ice castle in the north and kept him there.
