Nana Peters lived in a very big house that was falling apart, and
it was full of lots of old furniture. The furniture was covered in
dust and cobwebs, as each item remained still and unused for
many years.
One day Nana Peters decided she wanted to live in a small
house but needed to get rid of the furniture, as it would not fit
into a small house.
She decided to have a garden sale to sell her furniture. She put
posters up inviting people to her garden sale. Instead of
spending time cleaning her furniture she went inside and had a
nice cup of tea.

On the day of the sale Nana Peters put her furniture out on the
front lawn. There were lots of tables and chairs, a sofa and a big
bed.
Nana Peters waited for people to visit. While she waited she
drank ten cups of tea. Two men, one tall and one small, arrived
in a truck and began to look at the furniture.
"There's lots of bargains," said Nana Peters. "All in good working
order. Take the lot. Bargains, bargains, bargains."
The tall man smiled and the small man nodded.

The tall man looked at the furniture and shook his head. The
small man looked at the furniture and shook his head too.
"This furniture's no good," said the tall man.
"Really?" replied Nana Peters. "These are antiques, in good
working order."
"The furniture is rotten," said the small man. "They're covered
in dust. No one wants furniture in bad condition."
"What a waste of time," said the tall man. "Let's get back in our
truck."
"Wait," said Nana Peters. "Have a cup of tea before you go. I'll
put the kettle on."

Nana Peters brewed a beautiful pot of tea and poured the tall
man and the small man a cup of piping hot tea each.
"Delicious," said the tall man.
"Divine," said the small man.
"You two must be feeling weary," said Nana Peters. "Please feel
free to sit down, there's plenty of furniture to sit on."
The tall man took a sip of his brew and smiled. He sat on the
sofa and made himself comfortable.
The small man nodded and reclined onto the bed.
Nana Peters pulled up a chair and talked about the weather.

"Isn't this a glorious day?" said Nana Peters.
"Yes," replied the tall man, "and a wonderful cup of tea."
"And this bed is comfortable too," said the small man.
"Good," said Nana Peters. "Have some more tea. I'll put the
kettle on again."
Nana Peters went inside and the tall man spoke to the small
man agreeing that the furniture was comfortable. They both
decided to buy the furniture.
They paid Nana Peters well and began to load the furniture into
the truck.
