that the joy of having friends are worth than being 

lonely.The main characters are Annie and 

Elizabeth.Elizabeth first refuses to be friend with 

Annie.Later Elizabeth realized   that having friends

Once in the kingdom of England there lived a king 

and a queen.They had a daughter called Elizabeth. 

They had a lot of money.Everyday Elizabeth would 

go   to her mother and ask permission to go to an 

apple orchard.Her mother lets her to go to the 

apple orchard.In the palace the maid's daughter 

Annie also asked the girl to play with her.But 

Elizabeth   always thinks that she is a princess and 

a princess should not play with a poor girl.

Annie also went to the apple orchard and asked

to play with her.Next morning   Annie   asked   to 

Elizabeth to play with her.She said 'Dear princess 

Elizabeth, please play with me.Elizabeth said 'Girl 

don't think to play with me .I am a princess and I 

am in no mood to play with you.I'm supposed to 

play with royal princesses in another kingdom.Now 

leave me alone!'Annie was very sad.She went back  

home.

Everyday the same thing happened.One day Elizabeth 

was playing with her toys.Suddenly she remembered 

that she had to go to the apple orchard.She quickly 

put her toys there itself and ran to her mother. Her 

mother was sitting in a chair downstairs.She said 

'mother, can I go to the apple orchard '. Mother said' 

Elizabeth go and put your toys in its place and then 

you can go '.Elizabeth ran up and just pushed   the 

toys in a corner.Then she went downstairs to her 

mother and told her   that she had   put the toys 

back.Mother said 'Ok then let me see that whether 

you have put the toys back in its place.Elizabeth   said 

'no need mother its OK ' .'Hmm there is something 

fishy. I'm going to see your room.Said mother.

When she entered the room she was shocked to see 

the toys thrown in a corner.She was very angry and 

had realized that Elizabeth had lied her.She shouted ' 

Elizabeth you have told a lie! You are not gonna go to 

the apple orchard for five days!This is your 

punishment. And you play from here itself. Elizabeth 

was very sad.Next day she was very bored.As usual 

Annie   was coming that day also .Elizabeth thought 

that she would play with Annie for five days and then 

ignore her.She allowed Annie to play with her. This 

continued for five days. 

But things were   not the same as before.

Elizabeth now was more happier than she thought. 

It was very nice to talk and play,than   going to the 

apple orchard lonely. Now Elizabeth understood 

that having a friend is worth more than money.She 

thought that from that day on-wards she would 

never ignore Annie.She asked for forgiveness from 

Annie that had happened the other day in the 

apple orchard.Annie forgave her.
