Once there lived a beautiful girl named Moby. She
had soft, shiny, golden hair which glistened in the
sunlight. Her brown eyes were warm and friendly.
She was loved dearly by her Mama and Papa.
Everyone treated Moby kindly for she was a sweet
natured girl who loved to run and play with her
friends.

Every day after school Moby would play on her
computer. She liked writing messages, chatting
with friends and uploading photos.

One day when Moby was updating her
Facebook status, she noticed that her friend
Sarah was organsing a big gathering at the
beach for the following weekend. Every girl in
the class had been invited except for Moby.
This was strange because Sarah was kind to
Moby in class. She often sat next to Moby and
borrowed her textas. At lunch time Sarah
allowed Moby to play with her if she bought
some of her new toys to school.

The next day Moby saw
that Sarah and some
other girls in her class
were writing mean
messages about her on
their facebook pages.

One girl said that Moby had big
ears. Another girl said that Moby
wore funny clothes. This made Moby
feel embarrassed, hurt and sad.
How could her friends say such mean things?

Moby started to look at herself differently.
When she looked in the mirror, she started to
notice all the things that the girls had talked
about.
Maybe her ears were too pointy! She started to
wish that she was taller and thinner, that her
nose was smaller and her hair was longer.

More and more
Moby's thoughts
would say mean
things.
Soon Moby couldn't
believe any of the
nice things her family
said about her.

Soon Moby couldn't get to sleep. She didn't
want to eat her food or play her favourite
games.
At school the teacher couldn't see what Sarah
and the girls were really like. But each night
Moby found more cruel messages and hurtful
comments on her computer.
