A ais for Alligator
An alligator goes through various stages during its life. First, it begins life developing inside an egg. Second, the egg hatches
and a baby alligator comes out. Third, the baby alligator grows into an adult.


B bis for Butterfly

Butterflies change four times throughout their lives in a process called metamorphosis. They are born as an egg. Next, they turn into a caterpillar.
The caterpillar will grow and wrap himself into a cocoon.
After days have passed, the caterpillar turns into a butterfly.
C cis for Chicken

First, the hen lays the eggs. Next, the embryo grows inside the egg. When 21 days pass, the chick starts to peck out of the egg.
The chick grows up to be a hen or rooster.
D dis for Dolphin
Dolphins are mammals and like all other mammals give birth to babies, they do not lay eggs. A dolphin is called a calf when it is born.
A female dolphin will give birth about every 4 or 5 years; in order to take care
of her babies.

E eis for Elephant
The life cycle of an elephant has 3 stages. The baby, the adolescent and the adult elephant. The baby stage where the baby elephants are dependent of their mothers.
The adolescent stage is when the elephant is not accustomed to
the mother's milk anymore until 17 years of age. The last phase is the adult
elephant which can last about 18 years until the elephant dies.

F fis for Frog

Tiny frog eggs are laid in the water by a female frog. The eggs hatch into tadpoles.The tadpoles become frog-lets; they have 4 legs, breathe with lungs and lose their tails.Finally, the frog-let becomes into an adult frog who lives on land.
G gis for Grasshopper 


The life cycle of grasshoppers starts from the egg
stage. By the summer, the eggs hatch into nymphs.
After 30 days, the wings are developed and the
nymphs mature into adults.
H his for Hippopotamus


Baby hippos are born in the water and start swimming
right away. When hippos are 3 weeks old, the hippos stop
nursing from their mothers and begin to eat grass. At the
age of 8, the hippos leave their mothers to live on their
own.
I iis for Impala

Impalas have babies in the months of March and May. The female
impala isolates herself from the herd to give birth. After a gestation
period that lasts up to two hundred days, the calf is born. After five
months, the calf grows and becomes and adult impala.

J jis for Jaguar 

After one hundred days of mating the female jaguar will have
one to four kittens. The kittens are born with their eyes closed.
Usually the kittens begin to hunt when they are six months old.
Lastly, jaguars have a lifespan of twenty years.

K kis for Kangaroo

The first stage of a kangaroo's life cycle is a baby.
When a kangaroo is born it is about the size of a lima
bean. The second stage is the joey, this is when the
kangaroo begins to develop fur. The last stage is the
adult kangaroo which are 6 years old and weigh about
200 pounds.

L lis for Ladybug

The life cycle of a ladybug starts off with tiny yellow eggs. Then,
the eggs hatch in five days and turn into a larva. The larva grows
and sheds its skin to a pupa. Within a week, the pupa becomes an
adult ladybug.

M mis for Macaw


The life cycle of a macaw begins when a baby bird hatches
out of an egg in its parent's nest after one month of
incubation. A juvenile macaw reaches maturity between
three years after hatching then finds a mate.
N nis for Nightingale


The life cycle of a nightingale begins with the male
attracting the female through singing. The female
and male mate in the Spring with the female
hatching two to five eggs within two weeks.

O ois for Ostrich

First, the Ostrich hatches from its egg. Then, the ostrich
becomes a baby. Finally, the ostrich becomes tall, and big.
The ostrich has a really long neck and powerful legs for
running fast.

P pis Penguin

Penguin mothers lay one or two eggs in a nest. Then,
the penguin father and mother take turns hatching and
raising the chicks. Lastly, when the chick grows up, it
finds a mate.

Q qis for Quail

Quails lay about twelve to fourteen eggs called clutch. The
quails hatch their eggs in three weeks of incubation if not
destroyed by predators. Quails are very interesting birds because
they are not seen as often as other birds.

R ris for Rhinoceros
