Once upon a time, there was a princess named Pia. Now, Pia was no ordinary
princess. She had no interest in ballroom dancing or glittering jewelry. She
cringed at the thought of pink frilly dresses and all things royal. Pia's only real
interests were riding her horse, and going on adventures.

Pia was always getting into trouble. She would regularly disregard
her parents wishes to simply tend to her every day royal duties, but
Pia had no interest in doing any of it.

One day as Pia was getting ready to ride her horse, her mother stopped her. “Pia, you
must stop with this nonsense!” the Queen exclaimed. “You are a princess, and it’s about
time you start acting like one.” she said with a harsh tone. “Well, maybe I don’t want to be a
princess!” Pia retalited. “Well that’s just too bad Pia, because in ten days time, you will
become queen.” the Queen stated.

Shocked by this news,
tears started welling up
in Pia’s eyes. She
thought of everything
she would have to give
up in order to be queen.
No more adventures. No
more horseback riding.
No more playing in the
creek by the castle. Its
as if Pia was staring a
whole new life in as
little as ten days!
Why is this happening?

Overwhelmed, Pia dashed out of her room, passing her mother, down the castle’s winding
stairs, out the doors and into the horse stables. Pia dropped to the ground and cried in
desperation. “This is hopeless.” she said to herself. “How am I supposed to be a queen, when I
don’t even know how to be a princess?” Pia sobbed. All of a sudden, Pia heard a strange noise. She
wiped her eyes and turned around to see a woman holding what looked like a magic wand.

“Wh-Who are you?” Pia stuttered, rubbing her eyes to make sure she was
seeing things correctly. “Why, I’m your fairy Godmother!” the fairy exclaimed.
“Really? Oh, please help me fairy Godmother. I don’t know what to do! I’m not
ready to become queen.” Pia pleaded. “Well I’m here to help! C’mon, let’s go!”
her fairy Godmother exclaimed. “Go where?” Pia asked. “You’ll see...” said the
fairy.
