Frank and Johanna were
very proud of their baby boy
Bruno. They always knew
that he was a special little
guy but they had no idea
just how special. Never
could they have imagined
that the cute kid with the
chubby legs would one day
become the biggest star in
the world!

At first Bruno had
no interest in
becoming famous.
He'd rather spend
his time outside
with his best
friend Cupid than
become a star. He
just wanted to be a
regular kid and do
regular things.

It wasn't until he joined
the Boy Scouts that Bruno
would discover his hidden
talent. During a camping
trip, the other boys
brought their guitars to
sing campfire songs. As
the son of Polish
immigrants, Bruno decided
to bring his accordion. The
other boys looked at him
strange until he started to
sing. He had the voice of
an angel!

Since all of his cousins
were girls, Bruno didn't
really have much fun when
his parents would take him
to family events. He also
didn't like getting all
dressed up in fancy clothes
and a tie. He wanted to stay
home on Sundays and play
with his friends and his
dog.

At family gatherings, Bruno's
cousins would gather around
and talk about boys, fashion,
and other girl stuff. They also
liked to sing polka songs that
they had learned from their
parents. Bruno was too shy
to join in at first but when he
did, a star was born! Soon
the group of cousins would
form a polka band called
"Bruno and The Cabbage
Roll Cuties." They would
perform for friends and
family.

One day, while the family was on the way home from
visiting relatives, Bruno began talking about how much
he loved singing and playing the accordion. He told his
parents that he was going to be famous and buy them
a fancy house. They just laughed at their son's
enthusiasm.

Bruno decided to enter a talent
contest which was held at the
local high school. He easily won
the competition by putting on a
dazzling display of accordion
playing, sweet vocals, and a
spectacular stage show.
Everybody rose to their feet and
cheered when he finished,
including one very important
observer.
