Space Dude is my favourite video game. I play it for hours and hours. I know I spend too much time playing the game but I can't stop. I love it! Okay, maybe I don't. It helps me to escape.

2

Life at home hasn't been too good lately. My parents are divorced and I live with my Mom. I don't see my Dad that much anymore. My older brother is in high school and thinks he's too cool to hang out with me. That's why I spend so much time staring at this screen.

3

Space Dude is an astronaut whose rocket crashed on a strange planet. He is rescued by the friendly aliens and offers to protect their planet from evil invaders. There are five levels in the game but I've only gotten up to Level Three.
4

"You've been playing that darn game ever since you got home from school. Turn it off and go to bed!" "Yes Mom." Sometimes I wish I was Space Dude and lived a million miles away on my very own planet. I'd have a whole planet full of friends.

5

I tried to turn the power off but the game wouldn't shut down. I fiddled about with the knob on the television but it ended up falling to the floor. Frustrated, I started to bang on the top of the TV. And then "Zap!". I felt a jolt of electricity and passed out.
6

When I woke up I was surrounded by the green men from the Space Dude game. They just stared at me with their big black eyes until one of them cried out, "Our hero has arrived!" Hero? What did he mean by that? And where was I? In the game?

7

"Greetings earthling. I am King Marvin, leader of the Marvins. Here is your spacesuit and laser gun. You will need them to fight the invaders and robots. "What happened to Space Dude?" I asked. "He couldn't make it past Level Four."

8

Well I guess I'm Space Dude now. And not a moment too soon as I could see some invaders coming our way. Level One should be piece of cake. It's Go Time!

9

Space Dude does it again! So far so good. The next level would be tough. It took me a couple of weeks to finally get passed the giant robots. As I completed Level One, the Marvins continued to chant my name. It gave me goose bumps.

LEVEL ONE:
COMPLETE

10

Level Two was always my favourite. I got to ride a cool flying surfboard. And now I get to do it for real. I was so high up in the sky. It felt like I was going to float away. Oh what a feeling! Not a single care in the world. Well except for these pesky UFOs!

"I'm getting worried about Zac. I haven't seen him for hours. Do you know where he is Greg? Greg? Greg! Put down the phone and talk to your "sweetie pie" later. We have to find Zac!" " But Mom!"

Wow! Those robots were even bigger in real life. I hope this laser gun is enough to handle them. "Zac! Zac! Where are you?" Was that my Mom's voice I heard? "Mom?"

14

Distracted by my Mom's voice, one of the robots was able to knock me out with a lightning bolt. That's okay though. I still had two lives left.

15

"Hey man, nice shot! But I'm ready for you this time!" And with a blast from my laser gun I took out one of the giant robots. One down and two to go.

These robots are huge but they move very slowly. C'mon boys, just a few more steps. "Over here you big buckets of bolts!" Here they come. 1-2-and...............3!!!
17

The lumbering robots tripped over the net that I set up. Time for Level 4. The aliens of planet cheered wildly as the giant robots tripped on the net I had set up between two big rocks. I was excited but a little nervous. I've never made it past Level Four.
MEEP! MEEP!
