Once upon a time, there was a hungry, humble wolf. He was very poor, and his tummy was empty. He was walking alone in the countryside when he came upon three houses. He needed to ask for food or he would starve to death.

The first house that the wolf decided to visit was a beautiful big brick house. This seemed to make the most sense because he would most definitely have some food to spare. He approached the door and knocked three times. “Hello? Is anyone home?” He yelled.

He heard some shuffling, and suddenly the door was partially opened, and the wolf could see a fat pig. “What do you want?” The pig replied coldly. “I was just wondering if you had any extra food you could spare, I haven’t eaten in a few days.” The wolf responded.

“I’m sorry I don’t help your kind.” “My kind?” The wolf asked. “Yeah wolves. My cousin was killed by a wolf a few months ago. How do I know it wasn’t you that killed him?” This made the wolf very upset as he had been a vegan his entire life. “No sir I’m not like that,” he said, “I’m a vegan.” The pig looked at him with a cold look.

Oh no!

“That’s what they all say. I will not give you any food, not by the hair on my chinny chin chin.” And with that the pig slammed the door leaving the wolf in the cold.Feeling cold and hungry the hungry, humble wolf started on his way again.

Feeling discouraged, the wolf made his way along the winding path looking for another house. He saw a hearty-looking, stick house in the distance. The wolf decided to try his luck and trudged on up to the door. He knocked three times and waited patiently.

A muscular pig slowly opened the door. He stared at the wolf, slowly examining him, from paws to the tips of ears. “What do you want?” The pig said with disgust. “I-I-I...I just wanted to know if there were any scraps of food you afford to give me,” muttered the wolf.

The muscular pig continued to stare at the wolf, considering his options. The pig retreated back into his spacious home. The wolf started to cry as he turned around from the door. All of a sudden the door swung open again and a roll of bread came flying through the air. The wolf’s eyes brightened as he watched the roll tumble to the ground.
