One sunny day at Hidden Hill Acres, all the animals were in the field.
They were enjoying themselves when they saw Farmer Dale driving up the road.
He was pulling a trailer. They all knew he had bought something new.
"What do you think he brought us back?!" Exclaimed Cindy the Cow

"I hope it's a new saddle." neighed Howard the Horse
"Maybe it's a new watering trough." oinked Pete the Pig
"I hope it's a new cozy bed." barked Dave the Dog
"I really, really hope it's new bows for my hair."
mooed Cindy

All four animals ran to the top of the hill.
Farmer Dale backed the trailer up to the barn. He opened the door and out came an animal.
They all gasped.

"WHAT IS THAT?!" cried Howard
"It looks like a large deer." said Dave
"Hello Everyone." said the Farmer
"How about a big welcome for Linda?"

None of them said a word. Neither did Linda. She knew exactly what they were, but they didn't know what she was.
"Greet Linda please. " Farmer Dale said
Each animal mumbled a not so welcoming
hello,and the farmer walked away.

6
"What are you?" Pete asked
"I'm a Llama. I was born in the south." She said
Before Linda had time to say anything else, the animals broke out in laughter.
The other animals kept laughing, and walked away.

Linda was left standing alone in a new place.
For the rest of the day, Linda watched as they played on the hill.
None of them asked her to come play.
Linda felt very sad.

When it was feeding time, none of the other animals asked Linda to join them.
Linda ate by herself in the barn.
She started to wonder why they wouldn't talk to her.

After dinner, Farmer Dale put all of the animals into the barn.
"Goodnight!" they
said. Still, no one
had tried
becoming
friends with
Linda.

The next morning, when it was time to get up,
Linda stayed in the barn. Howard, Cindy,
Pete, and Dave went on with their day as if Linda wasn't even there.

Linda was very excited when she learned
she would be coming to the farm.
Now she was here, and wished the farmer hadn't brought
her.

Hidden Hill Acres
All Linda wanted was a friend.
Finally, she decided to walk around
the farm, hoping she would
make a friend.

As the animals were playing on the hill, Pete spoke up.
"I think we should ask Linda to join us."
"She isn't anything like us." said Howard
"We don't know that. We haven't tried getting to know her." Pete replied

"We should have been friendlier to her." said Pete
Cindy, Howard, and Dave all agreed with him.
They all decided they wanted to get to know her.
Also, they wanted to invite her to play.
Then, the animals ran down the hill to talk to Linda.
