School was so boring for me. I couldn't concentrate. I got distracted easily and I'd often stop listening. After a while all I saw on the blackboard were words and letters. I needed to find something to help pass the time so I started to doodle.

As it turned out, I was pretty good at drawing. Well, at least I thought so. I started off scribbling and playing X's and O's in my notebook. Eventually I started to draw characters. I still listened to the teacher talk but this was so much more interesting. I'd rather hang out with them instead.

Soon I had more drawings than I did notes from my days at school. It had become an escape from Mr. Belding's dull classes. When I grew up I was going to become a famous artist, a painter, or maybe even start my own comic book company.

I didn't bother with my homework anymore. I didn't need math or science or history. My pictures were going to make me rich and famous. I was so talented. As I tried to stay awake during math class, a voice called out to me. "Simon!" I looked around but the rest of the class was quietly reading. Who called my name?

"Down here, on the page." I looked down to see an old man that I had drawn. "You seem bored. Why don't you come enter our world?" "How?" I whispered. "Quiet please" said Mr. Belding. "Take my hand" said the old man as he pulled me into the paper. This was so strange. I just became a doodle!

"Cool!" I yelled out. Everything around me was something that I had drawn. Pictures of animals, motorcycles, and people passed me by. Everybody knew me here and would say "Hi Simon." All of my creations had come to life. "I want to live here forever!"

"Be careful what you wish for Simon. This is a fantasy world. You can't avoid reality forever" the old man warned me. I just ignored him. This was amazing. And it all came from my amazing brain. If I wanted to be lectured I would've kept listening to my teacher. I set off to find some discover more about this magical world.

"Hey Simon. How's it going? My name is Bert." "Nice to meet you." Alright! Made my first friend. Actually I drew him during last week's Geography class. Mr. Belding was talking about cities in Canada or something like that. Who knows? I hope Bert wasn't upset about the big nose and ears I gave him.

Bert told me all about Doodle Land. I had single-handedly created this entire universe with pens and pencils. Everything about this place was awesome. Soon we were joined by another one of my creations, "Lightning Boy." I named him that because of the lightning design on his shirt.

My group started to grow as "Onions" and "Tan Stan" joined us. I couldn't get over how much doodling I actually did. There were literally hundreds of characters in Doodle Land. I was quite proud of myself. I didn't need those other subjects. My art work was so good that I could just draw for a living.
