What is the size and level of your school/district?

2

"I work for a middle sized municipal school district in the southwestern region of Tennessee. This year marks the second year our district has been open. We serve 8,500 students, and are proud to call ourselves an Exemplary School District."
3
How long have you been a technology leader/coordinator?

4

"This is actually only my first year as an Instructional Technology Trainer. I am learning a lot every day, and I am learning to love being a technology trainer. It is a big difference from anything I have done before."
5
Did you work in a school setting prior to this position?

6

"Yes, prior to my role as an Instructional Technology Trainer, I was a classroom teacher for 12 years. During those 12 years, I was a middle school teacher. I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade."
7
Describe your position. What are your primary roles?

8
"The Instructional Technology Trainers are a group of professionals who work closely with teachers and students to ensure that technology is used to is maximum potential. All exemplary, veteran educators, the ITTs provide instructional support, model best practices, deliver job-embedded professional development, team teach, assist with teaching resources, and generally serve as a point of contact for the Instructional Technology Department. These technology integration experts are ready to assist in the schools they serve. My responsibilities as an ITT are instructional and based on the curriculum needs of students. I work with teachers and students on integrating technology into the curriculum."

9
Please list all of your duties as a technology leader/coordinator.

10
As an ITT, I’m available to work on the following:
•Developing technology lessons
•Providing on-going follow-up support in technology
integration
•Troubleshooting programs
•Developing tech skills through school and system-
wide sessions
•Providing teacher/student instruction using any
and all programs or sites
•Providing training of BCS resources for classroom
implementation
•Facilitate 1:1 lessons

11
What sort of assistance do you receive in doing your job?

12
"The BCS technology team is a close-knit group. If I have a question, I know I can go to one of my fellow ITT’s or my Supervisor to find the support I need. They offer a good support system and a variety of perspectives. I also know that I can count on the TST’s if there is a more technical problem that I need help dealing with. Depending on the situation, I know I can go to the administration at my schools for support if I need to."

13
Which parts of the job do you enjoy?

14
"I really love getting to work with a wide range of students and teachers within this position. I also love getting to do a variety of projects during the year that have helped me grow as an individual. There is a definite sense of excitement within my work that I love, which has built this year with our 1:1 initiative."
