Characteristics of Healthy Relationships
- You see your partner as trustworthy
- Your partner is enthusiastic when something goes right for you
- You’re comfortable telling your partner about things that make you feel vulnerable

- Even when you disagree, you can acknowledge your partner makes sensible points

Appropriate Conflict Resolution Strategies
- When angry, separate yourself from the situation and take time to cool out
- Communicate your feelings assertively, NOT aggressively. Express them without blaming
- Do not review the situation as a competition, where one has to win and one has to lose
- Work toward a solution where both parties can have some of their needs met
- Focus on areas of common interest and agreement, instead of areas of disagreement and opposition
-Forget the past and stay in the present

What is Sexting?
Sexting is defined by the sending and receiving of sexually explicit messages and pictures usually between mobile phones.

How is Sexting Used?
Sexting is used to exchange pictures and talk dirty. Sexting can be more appealing than sex because it is a way to be intimate without crossing some of the physical lines teens may not be ready to cross. It is also much safer because there is no risk of stds or pregnancies.

What are the Dangers of Sexting?
Trading nude photos is illegal if you are underage. This means you can be put on a sex offender list, go to jail, and potentially have your life ruined. Nude pictures can also be used as blackmail between one person and another.

Some consequences include:
-humiliation and embarrassment
-bullying
-child pornography charges

Three Different Kinds of Violence
Physical- inflicting or attempting to inflict physical injury, or withholding access to resources necessary to survive
Sexual- Coercing or attempting to coerce any sexual contact without consent, or attempting to undermine the victim' sexuality
Emotional- Undermining or attempting to undermine victim sense of worth

Cycle of Violence
Incident- Any type of abuse occurs (physical/sexual/emotional)
Tension Building-
- Abuser starts to get angry
- Abuse may begin
- There is a breakdown of communication
- Victim feels the need to keep the abuser calm
Making Up-
- Abuser may apologize for abuse
- Abuser may promise it will never happen again
Abuser may blame the victim for causing the abuse
Calm-
- Abuser acts like the abuse never happened
Physical abuse may not be taking place
Abuser may give gifts to victim

Types of Sexual Harassment
Quid pro quo sexual harassment is when an employee gets on the promotion track or even gets to keep their job is based on if the employee submitted to or rejected sexual advances or other types of inappropriate sexual comments.
Example:
If a supervisor were to tell an employee she would be more likely to be promoted if she dressed sexier, that would be considered quid pro quo sexual harassment.

Hostile environment sexual harassment is when a co-worker or supervisor in the workplace makes sexual advances or comments to an employee that makes the working environment of the employee offensive and hostile.
Examples:
-Personal questions of a sexual nature
-Vulgarities and other offensive language
-Physical conduct that is sexual or degrading to any reasonable person
-Any sexually explicit or offensive pictures or literature that is in plain site of other employees
