Fonda was playing ball with her brother Stark. Stark kicked the ball so high that it landed in the thickets. “Nchhhh Nchhhh Nchhhh….. Hey there!” came a muffed sound.
“Nchhhh Nchhhh Nchhhh….. I know you can only hear me but can’t see me”, said the little voice again.

“Fonda, do you hear anything?”, asked Stark.
“Yes, Stark I do”, said Fonda.
Fonda and Stark were eager to see where the sounds came from. Fonda and Stark nervously asked together, ”Who are you and where are you?”
To their surprise, the little voice replied ‘You can try finding me in this big garden. I’m Mr. Rickety Stickety Stick! Funny name, I know.

Oh and just in case you thought, I’m not your grandfather’s walking stick or your favorite hockey stick. Nchhhh Nchhhh Nchhhh….”
“That’s so funny, Rickety Stickety Stick”, laughed Fonda. “Stark, I think Mr. Rickety is playing a game of hide and seek with us.
“Mr. Rickety, could you tell us a little more about yourself from your secret hideout?”, pleaded Fonda and Stark.
5
“Oh yes kids! I have a big family and all of us go by the surname ‘Stick’. My mom told me that my great grandfather Mr. Thickbush Stick had met Hansel and Gretel when they were walking in the forest. Don’t be surprised! My family is so big that we are spread across Europe, Asia, America, everywhere except for Antartica. It’s too cold there! We hate the cold because our little skeletal bodies can’t survive the extreme winter.” explained Mr. Rickety.

Mr. Rickety and the kids kept talking with each other but sadly the kids still could not see him.
Suddenly Mr. Rickety screamed, “Ouch, that hurts! You just stepped on me. Why don’t you kids just watch where you walk? Nchhhh Nchhhh..Nchhhhh… I know you confuse me with tan barks and tree branches. But really is it so hard to see my body with six legs? No No No, I’m not a spider."
8
“Then who are you Mr. Rickety”, asked Fonda. “We are sorry for stepping on you but we just cant find you still”.
“That’s alright kids. This is what happens to me everyday. I try to sleep during the day and you kids keep running around with a ball and that disturbs me. I’m a little similar to Mr. Owl – we both are nocturnal.”
