Hi, my name is Charlie Cheeks and I am the fastest rodent you will ever meet...at least I think I am.
I am finally old enough to run the 50 m dash in the Animal Olympics!
It’s up to me to be the fastest in Guinea Peg.
2

I’m going to tell you the story of when I became a detective and learned to believe in myself!

3
We all headed down to the City Hall to hear Mayor Guinea’s announcements about our upcoming Olympic Games.
“Welcome citizens of Guinea Peg! As you all might know, the Animal Olympics are just around the corner!” Mayor Guinea exclaimed.

Welcome citizens of Guinea Peg! As you all might know, the Animal Olympics are just around the corner!
5

I’m almost there!
6
I began practising, day and night, for the 50 m dash; I had to win. Nothing could get in my way of winning. Nothing could stop me!
7
Just when I thought I was definitely going to win, something absolutely terrible, horrible, EXTREMELY DREADFUL happened.
Guess what happened...SOMEONE STOLE THE GRAND PRIZE!!!
I had to find the Grand Prize before it was too late.
And I had to win the race!
8
MISSING PRIZE!!!!

Grand Prize
1st
REWARD
For anyone that find the Grand Prize, will earn “The Best Rodents” medal!

10
Which is why I began looking for clues at that very moment with my best friend, John Nibbles.
We began investigating around the last place the Grand Prize was seen...the City Hall.
Standing by the case was a nervous looking squirrel with her tail up and her cheeks stuffed with acorns. I started to follow her and she began to run,
“She must be the thief?!” I thought to myself.
11

Stop right there! I know you stole the Grand Prize!

12
“I didn’t steal nothing, YOU MEANIE! I lost my mom and was looking for her!”
Mayor Guinea heard about the misunderstanding and lost it!
“Charlie, I am still very disappointed with your behaviour! Keep this non-sense up, and you’ll be disqualified from the race!” he shook with anger and stomped out of the room.
13
The next day was the 50 m dash and it seemed like the entire city had turned their backs on me. I tripped before I even got to the finish line.
I came in 3rd place but I still had one more try, I guess I’m not the fastest rodent alive.
14

AHHH!
15
As I ran back to runners’ meeting area, I saw something shining in the Mayor’s office.
Could it be?! The Grand Prize! I didn’t need anymore evidence, the Mayor stole the Grand prize.
“Mayor Guinea, I can’t believe I’m saying this but YOU STOLE THE GRAND PRIZE!”
16

That’s it Charlie, this is your last straw! Why on EARTH would I steal the prize? Goodness Gracious!

17

HUP! Two, three, four! HUP! Two, three, four! HUP! Two, three, four!
18
I decided to focus on the one thing I could do best, running in the 50 m dash. I ran by the City Hall. As I ran closer, I saw a rodent sneaking around the Grand Prize’s display case.
My mind screamed, “Don’t do it Charlie! This is your last warning!!!”
But….
19
“Hey, you there! You stole the Grand Prize!” I accused the bunny.
“Oh please! I’m looking for the thief just like you. The name’s Pepper and you?” she greeted me.
I introduced myself and we began investigating together. Here are our clues…
