Every morning Mango awakes with one thought in mind,

She runs for the kitchen to see what treats she can find,

Her very next thought after she's filled her tummy for the day

Is looking for friends with whom to go out and play!

She thinks of the people she'd most like to see,

Donald, Steph and little Sophie!!!

Mango first finds Donald practicing his Karate,

So he can show Daddy he hasn't been naughty,

So they can watch movies just them two,

And eat popcorn like they always do!

Donald tells Mango 'it's just too bad',

They'll play another time, 'don't be sad',

He gives her a pat and sends her on her way,

And Mango is sad they won't get to play.

Mango thinks to herself, i'll find Stephanie,

Surely SHE will want to play with me!

Stephanie so mischievous, we are sure to have a blast,

I better hurry and get there fast,

But as Mango entered the basement, two steps at a time,

It looked like she was entering the scene of a crime,

Stephanie had made quite the mess,

For she was about to meet a real Princess!

Stephanie was there, looking pretty as can be,

Surrounded by dresses as far as the eye can see,

But what a frown on her pretty face,

How to be sad wearing so much lace?

Stephanie shooed Mango, screaming 'I have a DATE'

Anna and Elsa will simply not wait!

'Sorry Mango', she said in a hurry,

'Princesses only', 'you're just too furry!'

She gave Mango a kiss and sent her on her way,

And Mango is sad they too won't get to play.

By now Mango was feeling very much alone,

She wouldn't even pant at the thought of her bone,

Mango kept thinking, 'How could it be?',

That no one wishes, 'to come play with me?',

She tried to be happy, and appreciate her chew toy,

But she kept feeling rejected and unable to enjoy.

Donald and Stephanie, both too busy for me,

Will I be forever be alone to wallow in this misery?

I was there when they were so very small,

I've licked many a wound and cushioned many a fall,

She thought to herself, could it just be,

That my little friends no longer love me?

But just as she thought she might start to cry,

She had an idea! Why not give Sophie a try!!!

Sophie so sweet, determined and bold,

Heart big as her eyes and made of gold,

She loves to chase me, she'll want to play!

I won't have to be alone anymore today!

Mango rushed off to Sophie's, running as fast as she could go,

Excitement in her paws, face and snout aglow,

She arrived in a huff, found Sophie at the scene,

Enjoying a feast, fit only for a queen!

'Sophie' she said, 'come and play!'

'I've been waiting for you most of the day!'

'There's much to see, and much to do,

I can't wait to do it all with you!'

'Sophie Sophie I just know it to be true,

You'd still love me, I just knew!'

Sophie took a big bite of her spa-ghe-tti,

Chuckled and said 'Mango, You're so silly'

'Don't you know this is only my second plate?

I'll be at it another few hours, you'll just have to wait!'

And with that she buried her face in plate of fish,

And Mango knew playtime was a pointless wish,

So she whined and whined to get a little treat,

To relieve the sting, perhaps a little meat?

Sophie gave Mango a bite and sent her on her way,

Leaving Mango devastated they wouldn't get to play
