In previous book 3 Alex gets thrown into a dungeon, and Steve gets a way and is nice again. But when he goes down to save Alex he has to fight Hero Brine. Luckily he escapes and finds Alex but when they find a way out......

In a flash of lights came Hero Brine! "How???" Alex asked. Steve had no time to talk and handed her a gold sword. "OK......"Alex slammed Hero Brine with her sword at the same time as Steve. Hero Brine flew back a lot but wasn't hurt. "Now's our chance to escape!"Steve said. Alex nodded. They ran and ran until they could not see Hero Brine any longer. Then they sat down for a rest. Alex panted. But she saw something deep in view. She started walking towards it. "Alex wait!" Steve said catching up. Alex got close enough soon and it was beginning to rain. She blinked out the rain and read the sign. It said "Welcome to the Woodland Village." "I found it!! I don't believe it!" Alex yelled.

Alex ran to find her friends. "Alex is back!" A villager shouted happily. Everyone peeked out their windows and cheered. "We are saved!" Another villager shouted. Suddenly Alex saw a house on fire! Skeletons and zombies were inside. "Steve help!" Alex yelled as she ran to the house and killed the monsters. Steve was coming when a zombie got into his way and hit him hard! Steve flew back but was only a little hurt. He got back up and killed the monster and rushed to the house on fire. By the time he got there Alex was covered in ashes but she was OK. However they soon heard a little weep from the corner of the house. They couldn't see what it was since fire was around the corner. They heard weeping later.

Alex couldn't stand hearing someone cry. She ran towards the fire. "Alex no!" Steve said but Alex was in the fire and she fell down. Steve felt like crying. Soon a flame came up and Steve could see 2 shadows. First he thought 2 villagers had escaped the fire but soon he saw it was Alex and a baby villager coming out of the fire! "Alex! And you- um-" Steve said. "Lindsey"Alex said. "Lindsey your safe aren't you!?" Steve panicked. "Steve shes fine. Don't panic."Alex said smiling. Steve calmed down and went with Alex to the castle. "Ya this is my house. Or castle. Anyways you can sleep with me here tonight for tomorrow you have to go back to your village." Alex said. Steve nodded. But he was upset.
