Rodney Fairchild Jr. was rich. Super rich. He had the best of everything: fancy cars, boats, houses, and vacations to tropical locations. Rodney had the money to buy anything he wanted and so he did. People were jealous of his great wealth and lifestyle. Unfortunately, Rodney was not a very nice person.

He didn't have any real friends and people only spent time with him because he was rich. Rodney was very selfish and kept all of his money. He didn't help any charities or people in need. He didn't do anything to deserve to fortune. It was his Dad whose hard work that had made the family incredibly wealthy.

It had been a beautiful day on the high seas but it was starting to get dark. Thick black clouds hung overhead as loud rumbles of thunder shook the boat. "Mr. Fairchild" the Ship's Captain began, "I think we should head back to shore. There's a storm heading our way." "Nonsense Skipper! We turn back when I say so!"

All of the party guests sought refuge below deck except for Rodney. He was used to having things his way and wouldn't listen to the Captain. The wind began to pick up as one of the ship's masts swung and knocked Rodney into the ocean. He found himself surrounded by a wide variety of fish as well as man-eating shark. A shark???

COUGH! COUGH!

Before the shark could take a bite out of him, a pair of brave dolphins rescued Rodney, bringing him to the shore. He coughed up a lot of water but he was going to be okay. He was cold, soaking wet, and lost. He wasn't alone however as he felt a pair of big brown eyes staring at him as he tried to get to his feet.

"My name is Sammy and this is Fantasy Island. It is inhabited by endangered species and you are the first human to ever visit us. What's your story?" "I fell off my yacht during a terrible storm and ended up in the sea only to saved by the dolphins." "You must be cold, tired, and hungry. Let's get you some fresh clothes and something to eat."

"Sorry about the clothes. They washed up on shore one day so we kept them." "It just feels good to get out of those wet clothes." "As you can see our diet consists mainly of fruits and veggies. For animals like me, I need to eat fish. Even though some of us don't get along in the real world, here we are all one big family." "Oh no! What is that?" Rodney exclaimed dropping his basket.

"That's just Tony the Tiger. The only thing you have to worry about are his terrible jokes" Sammy chuckled. "Nice to meet you!" Tony said excitedly shaking Rodney's hand. "Follow me. I'll show you where you'll be sleeping tonight." "See you tomorrow Rodney. I'm off to do a little fishing" Sammy said as he headed towards the beach.

"You're probably wondering why I'm in such a great mood. Well, after spending most of my life in a tiny cage at the zoo, I cherish every day that I'm here. All the animals here do." Rodney was really impressed with how this community of different species were able to live together in harmony. They didn't have much but they were grateful for everything.

Rodney noticed how peaceful and beautiful the island was. All the animals said "hello" as he and Tony passed by. "Here we are!" "It's a volcano!" Rodney exclaimed. "Don't worry, it's not active. "Where's all that smoke coming from then?" "That's probably just the Spider family making their 'Fly Flambé'. It smells awful but it's delicious."
