3. cytoplasm - houses gel-like fluids that support cell organelles

4. mitochondria - breaks down sugar molecules to create energy

5. golgi body - receives materials fromendoplasmic reticulum; distributes materials

6. endoplasmic reticulum - carries substances, like proteins, to different parts of the cell

7. ribosome - produces proteins

8. lysosome - contains chemicals that breaks down certain materials & breaks down dead cells

9. cytoskeleton - provides an important structural framework for the cell shape

10. centriole - help in the formation of the spindle fibers that separate the chromosomes during cell division

Cell Membrane

like a fence because good things can be let

in & the bad things can also be kept out. Everything let in & out of the cell can be controlled.

Nucleus

Like a smartphone or computer because they store information. In a nucleus, information is stored & contains majority of the cell's genetic material.

Cytoplasm

like glue because it keeps things held together, like the cytoplasm holds the cell together.

Mitochondria

like a battery because it gives off the energy needed to function.

Golgi apparatus

like a UPS truck because it packages and delivers things to people, like things are delivered to parts of the cell.

Endoplasmic Reticulum

like highways/interstates because they help get things to places, or as the endoplasmic reticulum does it, through the cell.

Ribosomes

Like factories because they make things, the ribosomes make proteins.
