There once was a little whale named Winston. He loved to laugh and play. His favorite thing to do was make sandcastles by himself. Little Winston always felt like there was something missing.

One day, he saw other fish playing together and decided that he too wanted friends to share his fun with. Making sandcastles was fun but, everything is more fun with someone to share it with. He decided that he was going to find a pal.

So Winston went off on an adventure. He went to search the deep blue sea for a companion. He looked high and low going from the surface to the dark depths of the sea.

First, he visited a turtle in the sea weed jungle.

Hi I'm Winston! Do you want to play?

You are too scary to play with me. Plus, I already have friends.

Okay I understand. Have a nice day!

See ya kid.

Winston was sad that the sea turtle was so mean but, being the positive sea creature he was he, kept going

Next, he went to the Dolphin Den to see if any other sea mammals would want to play with him.

Hey look Larry its a weird whale!

Hi I'm Winston! Do you want to play?

Go play with someone you're own size.

Winston started to realize that the reason no one wanted to be friends with him was because he was different. He didn't look like any of the other fish. This only made him want to find a friend that would feel different too. So he kept looking.

So he went out and found another wacky sea creature. As he got closer to the sea anemone he became more confident that he had found a new BFF.

Hi I'm Winston! Do you want to play?

Yo Winston! Hey man you look really cool but you're too big to play with me.

So he decided to go out and find a bigger friend since the sea anemone didn't think they could be pals. He stumbled upon another big animal, an octopus and decided to try again.

Hi I'm Winston! Do you want to play?

I'm sorry Winston but, I don't play with fish. I only have friends that have at least 6 arms.

At this point the rejections started to weigh on Winston. He decided that he would give up for the day and go make some sand castles.

Bye, Winston hope you find a friend!

That's okay Mr. Octopus. I'm used to it.

Winston thought that he didn't need any friends. A whale can make sandcastles by themselves. But then, he shed a tear when he remembered that no one would laugh at his jokes.

Excuse me Mister. Why are you crying?

No one wants to play with me. I am too big and weird for anyone to want around.

Just as he had come to the conclusion that no one wanted to be his friend, a little puffer fish swam up to him.
