Once upon a time there was a quiet young witch named
Morgan. She lived in a old abandoned castle in the
middle of the deep, dark woods. Morgan was a very
talented witch who loved making potions and casting
spells, but she was very lonely.
No one from the near-by village knew Morgan because
they were all too scared to venture into woods alone. So
Morgan spent her days searching the woods for the
ingredients of her potions and spent her evenings
studying her spell book in hopes of finding a recipe that
would help her make friends.

It was a bright afternoon when Morgan was walking through
the woods that she came across a young hunter.
“Who are you and what are you doing in these woods?” She
asked
“I’m Grayson and I am hunting in order to bring some meat to
the halloween feast” replied the brave young man. “What are
you doing?”
“I am looking for ingredients to make a friend potion so I can
make some new friends.” Morgana answered shyly.
“Oh I know exactly what you need!!” Grayson exclaimed with a
twinkle in his eye. “And I will show you where everything is if
you promise to share your potion with me and my friends!”
Morgan agreed excitedly.

“First you will need some carrots, about three
bushels worth”
Morgan thought hard but did not know what a
bushel was “How many carrots are in a bushel?”
“Three! You need three bushels of three carrots”
Grayson answered as he nibbled on a carrot he just
picked.

“Next you will need 3 pairs of turnips”
Morgan knew that there are two in a pair so she
started to pick enough turnips. “These seem like
some odd ingredients, I usually use rabbit ears and
frog tongues!”
“No wonder your spells haven’t worked yet!"
Grayson said with a look of disgust, "Now we need
some celery about 4 hearts of 7 stems.”
Morgan picked the celery happy to have some
company but wondering how powerful the potion
would be without any frog tongues.
“Now that we have all the ingredients lets go to my
cottage and make the potion!” Grayson laughed.

After cutting up all the ingredients and placing
them in a large pot of boiling water Morgan asked
“So what are the magic words? What spell are we
supposed to say?”
Grayson replied “The magic words are very
common but have to be said not until the
ingredients are all cooked and the potion is about
to be served. Don’t worry I’ll teach you the words
then”
