I am full of so many words! Lots of my words have to do with angles. An angle is a figure formed by two line segments or rays that share the same endpoint. An example of me is angle "a" is "BAC", and angle "θ" is "BCD". Here is what I might look like. Another word like me is gradient.
I also have many other math friends. One of my
friends names is Acute Angle, she measures greater than 0
and less than 90 . An example of her is an angle that is 39 degrees.

Another word like her is oblique angle.


Another one of my friends is called Endpoint. He is a point at the end of a ray or line segment. An example of him is a straight line with a point at each end. He might look like this Another word like him is end.
Another one of my friends is called Line. She is related to Endpoint. She is a straight path of points in a plane that continues without end in both directions, never ending. An example of her would be a line with no endpoints because she never ends. She might look like Another word like her is border.
My other friends name is Line of Symmetry. She is an imaginary line on a shape about which the shape can be folded so that its two parts match exactly. An example could be a square folded to where the edges meet. The line where the fold occurs would be the line of symmetry. Another word like her is reflection symmetry.



My other angle friend is called Obtuse Angle. He is an angle that measures greater than 90 and less than 180. An example of him is a straight line with a point at each end. He might look like this Another word like him is large angle.
I have lots of line friends. Ones name is Parallel Lines. She is two lines that are always the same distance apart from each other and never meet. An example of her is two lines above and below one another or side by side one another. She might look like this Another word like her is collateral.
Another line friend is called Perpendicular Lines. He is lines that meet or cross each other to form a right angle. An example of him is line AB crosses line CD through the center of the line.

Another line friend is called a Ray. He is a line with one endpoint that goes on forever in one direction. An example of him is line D with a point of the left end of the line and an arrow on the other end and line D goes on forever in the right direction. He might look like this

One of my girlfriends name is Right Angle. She is an angle that measures exactly 90°. An example of her is a line segment (AB) drawn so that it forms right angles with a line (CD). She might look like

Another one of my math friends is called Congruent. He is having exactly the same size and shape. An example of him is a square that is has the same side lengths all the way around the square as another square.

My math friend's name is degree. He is a unit for measuring angles. Based on dividing one complete circle into 360 equal parts. An example of a degree of an angle at 46 degrees. That angle would be an acute angle. She may look like Another word like him is angular unit.
Some of my line friends are called Intersecting lines. They are lines that cross at a point. An example of intersecting lines is a horizontal line with a vertical line drawn down the center of the lines. They may look like

Another friend is called Area. He is the number of unit squares that can be contained within it. An example of him might be a square with an area of 9 square units. He may look like

Another friends name is Array. She is an arrangement of objects in rows and columns. .An example of her is an array with 4 columns and 3 rows and is filled within. She may look like
Another word like her is matrix.
My best friends name is Length. He is the measurement of distance between
two endpoints. An example of him is the length of my rug is 6 feet long.

The cousin of area is called Perimeter. She is the distance around a shape. An example of her is the perimeter of this rectangle is 7+3+7+3 = 20. She may look like

My friends name is Volume. She is the amount of space inside a 3 dimensional object. An example is 4×5×10 = 200 units cubed. She may look like

My friend Width is the measure of distance from side to side in a
shape. An example of her is a door; it's 3 ft wide. She looks like

My friend;s name is Benchmark Fraction. He is fractions that are
used to help understand the relative size of other fractions.
An example of him is 1/4, 1/3, 1./2, 2/3, 3/4. She might look like

Another one of my friend's names is Numerator. He is the number above the bar in a fraction; it tells
how many parts of a group. An example of him is 5/6, in where 5 is the numerator. He may look like

My enemy is named Common Denominator. He is a common multiple of 2 or more denominators. An example of him is 12, which is a common denominator for 2/3 and 3/4. He may look like

Denominator is a great friend of mine. She is the number below the bar in a fraction, it tells the number of equal parts in all. An example of her is in 4/5, 5 is the denominator. She may look like

Fraction's cousin's name is Equivalent Fraction. She is when two or more fractions name the same
amount. An example from her is 4/8=1/2.. She may look like

My friends name is Fraction. She is a way to describe a part of a whole or a part of a group by using equal parts. An example of her is 1/2. She may look like

Fraction's cousin is called Improper Fraction. She is a term for a fraction whose numerator is greater than or equal to its denominator. An example if 8/3. She my look like

One of my cousins' name is Mixed Number. She is a number that has a whole number (not 0) and a fraction. An example of her is 5 and 1/2. She may look like
Another word like her is blended figure.
Another one of my cousins' is named Compare. She means to describe whether numbers are less than, greater than, or equal to one another. An example of compare is comparing the numbers 8 and 4 and seeing which one is greater than or less than the other. She may look like

One of my best friend's names is Decimal. She is A number with one or more numbers to the right
of the decimal point (tenths, hundredths, etc.). An example of her is .5678. She may look like

Another friend of mine is named Composite Number. He is a whole number greater than 1 that can be divided by more than two factors. An example of him is the number 6. He may look like

My friend's name is Equation. He is a number sentence with an equal sign (it shows two quantities are equal).
An example of him is 9 x 4=36. He may look like

Another one of my friends is Expression. She is part of a number sentence that has numbers and operations sign, but no equal sign. An example of her is 4 + x. She may look like

My friends name is Formula. She is a set of symbols that express a mathematic rule. An example of her is Area = length x width. She may look like

Another one of my friends is called Multiple. He is the product of a number and any whole number. An example of him is Multiples of 8: 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48. He may look like

Another one of my cousins' names is Estimate. He means to find a number close to an exact amount; an estimate tells about how much or about how many. An example of an estimation looking at a jar of cookies and estimating that there are 12 cookies in the jar. He may look like

Round is related to estimate. He means to find the nearest value of a number based on a given place value. An example of rounding is a cookie costs 4 dollars and 98 cents and you round to 5 dollars. He may look like Another word like him is estimate.



Another one of my friends' names is Prime Number. She is a number that has exactly two factors, 1 and itself.
An example her is the number 5 is a Prime Number. She may look like

Another friend is called Factor. He is the whole numbers that are multiplied to get a product. An example of him is 2 and 3 are factors of 6, because 2 × 3 = 6. 3 and 4 are factors of 12, because 3 × 4 = 12. Also 2 × 6 = 12 so 2 and 6 are also factorsof 12. He may look like

My dad's best friend is Place Value. He is the value of a digit in a number, based on the location of the digit. An example of him is 67. 6 is in the tens place and 7 is in the ones place. He may look like

The Product is multiplication's friend. She is the answer to a multiplication problem. An example is 4x3= 12 and 12 is the product. She may look like Another word like her is factorial.
Multiplication is the product's best friend. She is process of combining equal groups to find out how many are in all. She is also the operation of repeated addition of the same number. An example of her is 4x3 = 12.
She may look like arithmetic operation.


My mother's friend's name is Associative Property of Multiplication. She tells us changing the grouping of three or more factors does not change the product. She may look like

(5 x 7) x 3 = 5 x (7 x 3)
35 x 3 = 5 x 21
105 = 105 Another word like her is grouping.
My mom's other friend is Commutative Property of Multiplication. She tells us changing the order of the factors does not change the product. An example is a x b = b x a, where a and b are any real numbers. She may look like Another word like her is order.


Quantity is my grandmother's best friend. She is a specific amount or measure. An example of her is there are 4 apples in the barrel. There is a quantity of 4 apples in the barrel. She may look like

Multiplication's cousin is the Identity Property of Multiplication. He tells us that if you multiply a number by one, the product is the same as that number. An example of him is 1 group of 3 = 3
He might look like 1 x 3 =3
Another word like him is itself.
Multiplication's other cousin is the Zero Property of Multiplication. She tells us the product of any number and zero is zero. An example is 8 x 0= 0. She may look like
Another word like her is zero rule.



My friend's name is Quotient. She is the answer in a division problem. An example of her is 4 is the quotient of 8 divided by 2. She may look like Another word like her is answer.
Quotient's cousin's name is Remainder. He is the amount left over when a number can’t be divided equally. An example is 22 ÷ 5 = 4 has a remainder of 2. She may look like

One of my friend's name is Divide. He means to separate into equal groups and find the number in each group or the number of groups. An example of him is a 6 divided by 3. 3 divides 6 into 2 groups of 3. He looks like this Another word like him is sectionalize.
Divide's cousin's is named Dividend. She is a number that is divided by another number. An example of her is
7 divided by 56 and 56 is the dividend. She looks like this Another word like her is numerator.
Dividend's brother's name is Divisor. He is the number by which another number is divided. An example of him is 7 divided by 56 and 7 is the divisor. He looks like
