is for Abominable Snowman
Known to be a giant hairy man living in the Himalayan mountains, most of the reports claim seeing it or its foot prints.


is for Bigfoot
The ape-man himself (or herself for that matter) he is easily the most famous cryptid out there. He/she was first spotted and widely recognized in 1967.


is for Chupacabra

That's Spanish for "goat sucker." It's like the vampire...for goats. Though a lot of sightings that were thought to be El Chupacabra turned out to just be dogs with mange. Interestingly enough, sightings can range
from dog-sized animals to deer-sized with
wings.

is for Dragons

Yes, even dragons are considered cryptids. This can mean either European (western) dragons or Asian (eastern) dragons. Many sightings still happen today even though the first sighting was in 3000 B.C.!

is for Exaggerated

A lot of people believe that Cryptozoology is just a load of bologna. Tons of people still believe that Bigfoot and Nessie are just a bunch of hoaxes.

is for Father of Cryptozoology

Bernard Heuvelmans is known to be the man who founded Cryptozoology. Born in La Havre, France, on October 10, 1916, his most famous achievement is his book in 1955 "On the Track of Unknown Animals."

is for Globster

Globster, huh, that's a funny word. A globster is an unidentified blob of mass and tissue. Sad but true, a lot of globsters have just turned out to be parts from a sperm whale's carcass. Though the most famous,Trunko, has not been proven a fake.

is for Hoax

Hoax: a humorous or malicious deception. In cryptozoology terms, it means a cryptid that has been proven fake.

is for Imagination

A lot of hoaxes begin when someone thinks that they saw something. It could be a bug, a cat without a tail, it could even be a trashcan sometimes. They can't tell what it is so their imagination takes over and they see something that's not even there.

is for Jackalope

A Jackalope is a cryptid with a rabbit's body and head but deer antlers on its head.

is for Kraken

The Kraken is a legendary sea monster that resembles a ginormous octopus. The first documented sighting was in 1752 off the coast of Norway and Greenland.

is for Loch Ness Monster

(Of course it had to be on the list) The Loch Ness monster is a long-necked, water-dwelling creature. One of the more famous cryptids due to its many photographs.

is for Mothman

Personally, I find the Mothman rather frightening. First spotted in Pleasant Point, West Virginia, the Mothman legend spread like a wildfire. Many people still believe that it is responsible for the collapse of the Silver Bridge.

is for Nandi Bear

Nandi Bear, never heard of it. I'm just kidding. The Nandi Bear is a bear that lives in Africa. What makes it special is that nobody has ever captured it and it would be the only species of bear that lives in Africa.

is for Onza

An Onza is believed to be the missing link between pumas and cheetahs. Even still, it has yet to be proven.

is for Phaya Naga

Phaya Naga originates from Thailand and is believed to be responsible for the Naga fireballs.
