Dear Diary:Tomorrow is the first
day of school! I can’t
wait to be in first
grade! I can’t wait to
meet my teacher. My
head has been really
itchy lately, maybe its
because I’m nervous.
Anyway, time for bed,
goodnight!

Dear Diary:Dear Diary,
today was nice, but they said the nurse
would come in tomorrow to check people
for lice. I didn’t know what that was, but
i asked mommy and daddy and they said
they are little animals that crawl on your
head. Eeew! I hope none of my friends
have them.

Dear Diary:Dear Diary,
Today the nurse came in
and checked everyone’s
hair. She made me go into
a special room and called
my parents. She told me
not to worry and that
everything would be Ok.
When my parents got
there, she told them that I
had head lice, and that I
couldn't come back to
school until the head lice
was gone. :( Today was a
bad day.

Dear Diary:I spent the whole day at home today with mommy.
She told me she had to put this special shampoo on
my head to get rid of the lice. I was upset all day. I
tried coloring, but all I could think about was the
kids in my class making fun of me for the little
animals living in my hair.

Dear Diary:Today i went back to school and it was awful! no one
would sit near me at lunch and they wouldn’t play
with me at recess. they also made up a name for me:
Lousy Licey Lucy. mommy made me cupcakes and
said sometimes kids are mean, but it didn’t help, i
still felt sad because no one likes me.

Dear Diary:Today the nurse came in again to check people for
lice. One of the boys that used to make fun of me
and call me names got pulled out of class just like
I did. His friends were surprised. Then, one by one,
they got pulled out too. After they left, people
started calling them “The Lice Crew.”

Dear Diary:Today our teacher talked to us about respect and
being nice to others. She said we should always
treat people the way we want people to treat us.
Hah! serves those mean boys right! She also said
anyone who was making fun of someone for having
lice will get a 30 minute time out in the corner.

Dear Diary:No one made fun of me today! everyone is being
nice and i even sat with some kids at lunch. I guess
everyone realized that being mean to people is
wrong and will get them in trouble. Teacher said
that since everyone is being nice to others, she will
bring us a treat.

Dear Diary:Today teacher brought us all cupcakes! She said she
was proud of us for learning to be nice to others. She
also told us that since we’re nice to other people,
other people will be nice to us. The boys came back
to class today as well, they even apologized for
calling me names before! It was the best day ever!
