Actually not from France at all, the french horn is a member of the brass family.

Glockenspiel is a keyboard percussion instrument sounding two octaves higher than written.
The glockenspiel produces high bell-like sounds and is associated with popular Christmas tunes!

Franz Joseph Haydn was a baroque composer who lived from 1732-1809.
Franz Joseph Haydn wrote over 100 symphonies!

is for Improvisation.

Improvisation is a technique used mostly by Jazz musicians.
They get to make up their own music!

A style of music originating in New Orleans based on improvisation and strong rhythm structure.
Jazz players improvise their own solos!

Key refers to the tonal center around which a piece of music is based.
The harp can switch keys using pedals located at the bottom of the instrument!

A lament is mournful or sad piece.
Ginger wrote a lament following the loss of her grandmother.

is for Mozart.

One of the most influential composers of all time, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived from 1756-1791. A child prodigy, Mozart began composing at age 5!

is for Nocturne..

A nocturne is piece inspired by the night.
Frederic Chopin wrote 21 nocturnes for solo piano!
is for Oboe.

The oboe, a member of the woodwind family, plays with a double reed, meaning it makes sound by two pieces of wood vibrating together.
The oboe has a clear and penetrating voice. One oboe can be heard over an entire ensemble!

is for Piano.

The piano has 88 keys, the largest range of any instrument.
The piano wins the award for most literature written for solo instrument. Wow!
