To all the children out there with goals and dreams, never give up. Just because you feel you don't have a house to call home does not mean you do not have a home out there somewhere for you.

This is the story of Klaus the mouse. Everyone loved Klaus because he was always kind and happy.

Hi I'm Klaus the happy mouse!

Klaus the happy mouse had his dream job. He loved cheese and got to make it for a living. He spent his free time in his beautiful house by the sea eating cheese.

Mmm.. cheese. My favourite!

After celebrating his 5th year with the cheese factory, Klaus was in a very good place. While relaxing at home he began to think about the destination of his next vacation.

Tomorrow I will start looking at airplane tickets. Some place nice... with lots of cheese to choose from.

But the very next day, Klaus the mouse received a letter in the mail from the owner of the cheese factory that he worked at. It said...

Dear Klaus the happy mouse,
I am deeply saddened to inform you that the cheese factory is closing. Your love of cheese is what inspired me to keep the factory open. However, the business is losing too much money and I cannot afford to keep it open...
Best of luck,
Richard the Rat
CEO Cheese Factory

What will I do? How will I pay for my beautiful house by the sea?

Goodbye lamp, someday I'll buy you back.

Klaus started to look for a new job right away but no one in town was hiring a cheese mouse. This went on for so long that he had to sell things to make ends meet.

He needed more time to find a new job so he sold his car.

Then the pool table, tv and drum set.

It still wasn't enough, so he sold his furniture and favourite couch.

Then his collection of finest cheese.

This went on for many months. The last things to go were his childhood teddy bear and his wonderful comfy bed.
Once he had sold everything in the house, he sold his beloved beautiful seaside house.

I was hoping to raise a family of my own in this house... I guess I'll find a new dream.

Feeling lost and embarrassed, he found the courage to ask his friends and family for support.

Of course they will help me at least for a little bit let me give them a call!

Everyone he asked sent their love but could not take him in. All alone, he set off to find a new home.

I have nowhere to go, I did not think they would all say no.

The search for a new home and life seemed endless, and with time Klaus's grey fur turned blue and his heart began to shrink. Eventually, his heart disappeared altogether and there was not a patch of grey fur in sight.

Klaus thought about all the things he left behind, his job, his home his family and his cheese. He's never felt so alone or unwanted. Without his grey fur or big red heart, he felt helpless.

I am all by myself without a place to call home or people to help me. This makes me feel very sad and blue.

Feeling blue, he turned to a map for guidance.

Now where will I go?
