is for Autumn

Autumn is another word for Fall. This is the season after summer and before winter. It is still a little warm, but getting cooler. Leaves are changing colors and falling.







is for Blizzard




A snow storm with fast moving winds. It is very cold! Make sure you have a hat, scarf, and coat on!
is for Cloudy

The clouds are high up in the sky. When you cannot see the blue sky, it is because it is too cloudy.
is for Desert

The desert is very HOT during the day and the desert is very COLD during the night. It is a dry place, with very little rain fall.
is for Earthquake

The earthquake will shake and rattle the ground. People need to protect themselves by getting under a table and away from windows.
is for Flood

A flood is when water rises higher than it should. It can destroy houses, cities and much more. If you see water rising, run fast and to somewhere high up.
is for Glacier

A glacier is a big block of ice that is slowly moving through a body of water.
is for Hurricane

Fast moving winds will destroy whatever is in its path. It will usually happen around bodies of water. These are very dangerous.
is for Inches

It is going to rain at lease 12 inches today. Which is the same as 1 foot! That's a lot of rain if you ask me!




is for January, June, and July

January is the first month of the year. June is the sixth month of the year and July is the seventh month of the year.
is for Kites

On a windy day, you can fly your kite. Let it blow in the wind and see how high it can get.




is for Lightning

Lightning is always partnered with a thunder clap. Long belts of light will light up the sky during a storm. Sometimes even when it is really hot outside!
is for Meteorologist



"Today's weather will be sunny with zero chance of rain. If you look here on the radar you can see it is very sunny."

is for Negative





When the temperature is in the negatives, it means it is very cold. A negative number is any number lower than 0.
is for Overcast

The sun is barely shining through and the clouds care covering all the sky. Overcast can sometimes lead to rain, or the sun is just hiding.
is for Puddles

Puddles are fun to splash in after a thunderstorm. Get on your rain boots and go jump in some puddles!
