"Humour is one of the best ingredients of survival." - Aung San Suu Kyi

Many have tried but nobody has ever been able to climb the majestic Mount Isaac. Countless brave souls have accepted the challenge only to never be heard from again. It is located in a country called Nepal in the Himalayas.

My Uncle Tony and his friend George were experienced mountain climbers. After watching a documentary about Mount Isaac. they decided that they would be the first people to conquer the treacherous mountain. Friends and family begged them not to go but they were determined to achieve the impossible.

Reluctantly, we all said our goodbyes at the airport as the duo headed off for the adventure of a lifetime. After a long plane ride, the pair headed off into the barren wilderness where they set up camp. My uncle was a real thrill seeker but he wasn't reckless. There was something about his friend George however that made me a little uncomfortable.

The pair was raring to go at the crack of dawn. They had layers of clothing, and plenty of food, and supplies. I sure hope they had enough for such a dangerous expedition. They started their mission in a jovial mood as they sang and cracked jokes. After a few hours, the bitter cold, hunger pangs, and a bit of fear began to affect their attitude.

The climb proved to be too much for the two. They began running low on supplies as a major snowstorm was heading their way. The pair started to argue and without warning, George cut my Uncle Tony's rope sending him into a freefall. He landed roughly on ground as George continued onward.

It started to snow harder and harder as Uncle Tony laid there, injured and barely conscious. He tried opening his eyes a couple of times but was too weak to even lift his head. When he awoke, he found himself in a tiny shack with a couple of unique characters staring back at him.

My Uncle Tony had been given shelter by an elderly monk and a goat. The monk had retreated to the mountains where he spent all of his time writing kids books. He had also taken a vow of silence which made things very awkward for my confused Uncle Tony. As far as the goat goes, I don't know what his story was.
