INTRODUCTION

I'm going to tell you about Basketball. Basketball is a very popular sport. Many countries play Basketball.

Basketball is kind of like Soccer, it is just you dribble with your hands, not your feet. Basketball is also played in the Summer Olympics.

RULES

Basketball's rules are very important to know, if you don't know then your team is probably going to lose. If you know the rules well then you'll probably going to win. So anyway lets get to the rules.

You can pass the ball to your teammates, too. When you are close to the basket and nobody is guarding you, you should try to shoot the ball in the basket if you make that then your team gets 2-points.

DOUBLE DRIBBLE+TRAVEL

A Double dribble is when you dribble then you stop dribbling, then you start dibbling again. If you do that in a game your opponent team gets the ball. Another meaning is if you have the ball then you dribble with 2 hands.

A Travel has three meanings. One meaning is if you take three or more steps without dribbling. The second meaning is if you are dribbling the ball and when you dribble you make the ball and your pawn face up toward the sky.

The third meaning is if you have the ball and you are thinking of passing the ball or shooting the ball. Then you jump in the air, and forget what you were doing so you land with the ball in your hands.

3-POINTER

A 3-pointer is when you shoot behind a half circle line, thats behind the free throw line. As you can probably tell that if you make a 3-pointer you get 3 points instead of 2 points.

FOULS

There are three types of fouls: Flagrant foul, a Charging foul and a Technical foul.

A Flagrant is when people get in fights with words. A Technical is when people get in fights by touching each other. A Charging foul is when your on offense and you ram into the person that is guarding you.

A Technical foul gives you 1 free throw and the ball. A flagrant foul gives you 2 free throws but your team doesn't get the ball after that. If you get charged then your team gets the ball. If you do 6 fouls in a game then you cannot play anymore in the game. If you get fouled the same time you make your shot, then that point counts but you get 1 free throw instead of 2. If you get fouled when you are shooting a 3-Pointer, you get 3 free throws instead of 2 or 1.
