WITH MR. BRUNO

It was a normal school day for Ben. Little did he know that something incredible was going to happen to him that would change his life forever. "Good morning everyone. I'm your Chemistry teacher, Mr. Bruno. Today we're going to do some experiments so find a partner and let's go!"

Ben was the smartest kid in school so he didn't need a partner for this assignment. While he was working with some chemicals, a creepy spider started to drop from the ceiling behind Ben. The spider had been in the classroom for months and was filled with chemicals.

"Ouch! My hand! I think that spider bit me. I don't feel so good. Feel kinda dizzy. Mr. Bruno, may I be excused?" Ben ran down the hall to the washroom and began splashing water on his face. He still didn't feel good. His muscles ached and his heart was racing.

"Watch where you're going punk!"

Ben was able to make it through the rest of the day but his hand was throbbing from the spider bite. On the way home from school he started to get light-headed and walked into traffic. "HONK! HONK!" There was a car right behind him. Ben quickly jumped out of the way. So far out of the way that he ended up on the side of a building.

"Awesome! I must be like 30 feet in the air. That spider bite must've done something to give me special powers. I wonder what else I can do?" Ben was able to climb buildings, jump really far, and had superhuman strength. He really didn't know how to use his new powers but he couldn't wait to find out.

WITH MR. BRUNO

"When will these kids learn to clean up after themselves? Look at this. There's chemicals everywhere. Sigh! I'll have to dump it all down the sink." As Mr. Bruno headed over to dispose of the chemicals, he slipped on a puddle and dropped the beakers setting off a huge explosion.

Mr. Bruno called in sick the next day so Ben's class got to go home early. He ran home and started working on some web shooters. Using his math and science skills, Ben came up with the right formula. He poured some of the fluid into his wristbands, squeezed, and presto! A perfect spider web.

Ben didn't have a costume yet, so he put on a disguise and headed outside to see what he could do. He was able to shoot webs and swing from building to building. He could lift cars over his head and climb to the top of the tallest skyscrapers. He was the happiest kid in the world yet why did he sense that something bad was going to happen?

Before he could move out of the way, Ben was hit by a pumpkin that knocked him off his web. When he looked up he saw something strange looking back at him. "I don't know who you are kid, but I want you to know that there's a new villain in town. You can call me The Green Grampa!" The odd creature flew away on a giant bat leaving Ben sore and confused.

"Ben! Where have you been this whole time?" "Sorry Aunt June. I went out for a jog and lost track of time." "There's a very handsome man that wants to talk to you. I think he said his name was Danny Mazur." "Danny Mazur? From Mazur Industries? Iron Dan?" Ben immediately rushed upstairs to meet his hero.

"Hello Ben. It's nice to meet the next great superhero. You have some real talent. You just need the right suit and a smart, good-looking mentor." "Like who?" "Like me you silly kid! Here's the costume I made for you. You'll need it to stop The Green Grampa.. Good luck. I'll be around if you need me. Oh, and can you give my number to your Aunt June?"

"This suit is awesome!" Ben screamed as he swung across the night sky. It was pretty quiet until police sirens started to blare below him. They were hot on the trail of The Green Grampa. "Okay boys, lead me to the big, green goofball" Ben quipped as he followed the police cars.
