Hi, I am Jack, and I am going to tell you all about my great adventure.

It all started on April the 15th. It wasn’t just a normal day, it was the day I found something that was going to change my future!

I was playing soccer with my friends Paul and Harriet in the park around the corner from my house, just like we did every saturday. That's when we saw it, over in the bushes next to the big oak tree.

Paul kicked the ball to me but it went hurtling past me and into the bushes near the big tree. I ran over to get it when something caught my eye. It was shiny and small and rather round looking, almost the size of a little golf ball. It was a mysterious looking object.

I called Harriet and Paul over, to have a look. It was glinting in the sunlight sparkly and metallic. I was a little hesitant to pick it up but Paul showed no fear. He pushed past me and stretched out his hand to grab it. Of course, we couldn’t just leave this random object, we had to take it inside and investigate.

Paul picked the mysterious object up, "Hey its much heavier than I expected" he said. He carried it carefully as we walked inside my house. After a few minutes of looking at the object we worked it out! This thing was a key. But where does it lead to? 

We ran to Harriet's house where all of our mums were having afternoon tea. Harriet told her mum the whole story. Her Mum said "Well isn't that fascinating. You can go looking around town if you want, just do not go into the dark forest". So we set off and went to every house in the neighborhood, but the key didn’t fit into any of the doors.

We were starting to lose hope. Then Paul came up with an brilliant idea, "what about the dark forest" he said excitedly. The only place we hadn’t looked. I remembered when I went wood chopping with my dad that there was an old and rather lonely looking house in the middle of the forest. 

Off we went into the dark forest. As we were walked further into the forest it got darker and darker, it was scary in there. We heard animals and from every direction we heard the bushes rustling, we were all huddled together walking along the over grown path.
