AH!!! That was me screaming at 6:45AM, realizing that I had to visit my grandparents in Alaska where it is as cold as touching dry ice. Alaska is part of the taiga, the largest terrestrial biome on Earth with long, cold winters so perfect timing visiting them in January. So, I started putting my stuff into the suitcase at lighting speed and headed out to Alaska. Already on the plane, I could see the millions of evergreen trees surrounding the airport. Grandpa was there already to drive me home but it took a billion years because he wasn’t pushing hard enough on the gas petal. When we did get home, Sebastian was outside trying to feed a white-tailed deer.
When Sebastian saw me, he gave me a hug and took out for an afternoon stroll in the woods. He started babbling about that there are many owls here but at that point I wasn’t listening. I was worried about all the deadly animals that could come out at any moment like a pack of wolves. Suddenly, a icy cold wind greeted us and we started to smell smoke. Behind us we could hear the rumbling of a giant forest fire that was heading towards us but all we could do was run and hope we find shelter. We ran at the speed of light, praying that we could find a cave or something. Ironically, Sebastian spotted a cave so we sprinted inside. The cave was spookier than a haunted house but beggars can’t be choosers so stayed for the night.
I woke in the morning, hugging a brown, fluffy blanket which I think I drooled on. I looked around to find Sebastian but I couldn’t find him so I thought he was outside looking for food. Suddenly, the blanket was alive and it growled at me like an angry wolf. I now knew that this was no blanket, it was a
GRIZZLY BEAR!!! I ran out of the cave like a shot but the bear was still on my tail so I climbed up the closest evergreen and stayed there until it was gone. I landed back down on the ground, when I realized something. AH!!! I WAS LOST!!!
