GRADE SIX MATHEMATICS

MATH
Ugh! Monday morning was here already. Math was my least favourite subject but at least I got it out of the way early. "Okay class, flip to page 23. We'll be starting fractions today.....today.......today....." What was wrong with Mrs. Six?

"Somebody get the school nurse!" "I'll do it!" I yelled as I ran down the hallway. "Miss Ten! Miss Ten! There's something wrong with Mrs. Six. Miss Ten?"

Oh no! Not her too! What the heck was going on? I was really starting to get worried. Maybe I should tell the rest of the class that something's wrong and we should get outta here.

"Hey guys! Something strange is going on here. I think we should go home right now. Guys? Oh no!" The rest of the class was acting weird like the math teacher and school nurse. I grabbed my knapsack and left school.

I ran until I was out of breath. I spotted a couple of police officers. Thank goodness! "Officers, something weird is going on in this city. People aren't acting like themselves." "What are you talking about....about.....about..." Not them too! I had to go home to make sure my parents were okay.

Before I could make it to the front door, it occurred to me that my parents were probably at work. I had a key and needed somewhere to hide so I opened the front door and walked inside.

"Mom! Dad! Are you home?" The house was completely silent. It didn't look as though anyone was home. Aside from the ticking of our grandfather clock, the house was totally silent. Suddenly the clock mysteriously stopped ticking and I began to hear the sound of heavy footsteps.

Obviously that sound wasn't my pet goldfish. I crept down the stairs and slowly looked around the corner. Staring right back at me was a giant robot. I threw my knapsack at him and tried to escape. I ended up colliding with someone at the front door.

It was Mr. Seven from next door. "Follow me Drew. We'll be safe at my house." "What's going on Mr. Seven?" "I'll tell you all about it once we get out of here. Let's go!" We ran into Mr. Seven's garage and hid from the robot.
