Reading 1 GN 1:1-2:2

Once upon a time when God created the heavens and earth, everything was dark. God then said "Let there be light!" and it was like someone flipped the light switch, the sun was shining so bright! God then went on to create things that are a huge part of our lives! God created the sea monsters, birds, the sky, day time, and night time, humans, and much more! The meaning of this story, is that God gives us everything that we will ever need in life. God created us to be nice to each other, and be like him!

Reading 2 GN 22:1-18

One day, God tested Abraham's devotion to him...God told Abraham to offer his son up for holocaust to him on top of the mountain. Abraham answered when he was called, and followed orders. He saddled up his donkey and started heading up to the mountain with Issac. A messenger from God came and told Abraham not to lay a hand on Issac, and that he will be eternally blessed for showing his devotion to God. The meaning of this story is that if we listen to God, and do as he says he will never lead us the wrong way. We can fully trust God.

Reading 3 EX 14:1-15:1

Moses was praying to God for him to help his people, who would soon be invaded by the Egyptians. God told Moses to reach out his hands, and the sea would be split into two and they could travel through the path. They all made it through then Moses put the sea back to its normal level, and the Egyptians couldn't get them anymore! The meaning of this story is that God is our protector, and he will always find a way to protect us. If we pray and ask for help, he will find a way to help us.

Reading 4 IS 54:5-14

The Lord is our Maker. The Lord may abandon us for a little while, yet he always comes back. The Lord says even he has his times of retribution like the Flood, yet he will never deluge the Earth again. The meaning of this reading is that sometimes bad things will happen, but God will always fix them, and help you find a way out.
