TO EVERYONE WHO LOVES CHRISTMAS!

It was Christmas! Kristy and Layla LOVED Christmas. They got presents, and snow. Kristy liked to snowboard, and Layla liked to make snowmen. ''Finally, Christmas is here!'' Kristy said with a smile on her face. Layla patted Kristy's back in agreement. They both joined hands and smiled. ''Let's catch snowflakes on our tongues, Layla!'' Began Kristy. Just then, Kristy's mom came out. ''Breakfast, everyone!'' Kristy and Layla looked at each other, than ran to the house. For breakfast, it was pancakes with buttery syrup and strawberries. They were all eager to dig into that yummy feast!

''I hope you all enjoy!'' Said Kristy's mom. She waved her hand by the entrance. ''Wow, mom! Those pancakes look SO good!'' Kristy commented. Layla jumped up on a chair to eat. ''What is your secret, Mrs. Harnvord?'' asked Layla. Kristy's mom, did not reply. Instead, she just shrugged and grinned. ''It is a chef's secret.'' Kristy's mom said. Then everyone started to eat. It was the most delicious meal they have had this December! When everyone finished up, Layla went into Kristy's room. They talked about what they wanted this Christmas. Everyone was happy.

Kristy taped her Christmas list to her dresser. Then, she and Layla played dolls. ''Your mom is a great chef!'' Said Layla brightening up the mood. ''Thank you!'' Said Kristy politely. Mr. Whiskers started meowing. They pet him then too. ''How about we go back outside?" Suggested Layla. Kristy nodded her head. So, they set off outside. By this time it was noon. One day before Christmas, and they were not supposed to get to snowy. ''Lets try to stay, you know... clean Layla.'' Kristy pointed out. Layla put a thumbs up. Then, Kristy noticed something very mysterious outside the house.

Kristy and Layla stood from afar. ''What is, THAT?'' Kristy asked. Layla took a closer look. ''Why, it is Santa and his bundle of reindeer!'' Replied Layla. Kristy got a smile on her face. So did Layla. ''Now that we have the chance, lets tell Santa what we want for Christmas!'' Layla said. ''I'll go get our lists!'' Kristy added. So, the girls rushed to do so. When they go to Santa, they realized he was stuck. ''Huh, Santa is really IS you!'' Said Kristy. Layla asked why he was not moving. ''Well, you see girls, my reindeer have run out of Christmas spirit.'' Santa said. Layla looked confused.

Kristy reminded Layla that Santa was a jolly Christmas man, not some market worker. Layla assured Kristy that she now knew that. Then, they asked how they could help. Santa told them, ''The only way is for YOU to get me a bottle of it. The Christmas Spirit is placed in my workshop.'' Santa had told them. Kristy and Layla were not sure where that was. ''Can you tell us where it is?'' The girls asked. Santa shook his head. ''No my dears, I cannot.'' The girls's draws dropped. ''How are we supposed to know, Santa?!?'' Layla asked. Santa shrugged. ''Hurry, there is not much time left.''
