In Fredericksvile, New Jersey on the day of April 27,1882 a beautiful African American girl had been born and her name was Jessie Redmon Fauset. Every since she was a little girl she had always dreamed of becoming a teacher, but it was very hard to do so because of the color of her skin.

But Jessie was not an ordinary woman she was very persistent and always stuck to what she wanted to do like gum under a desk.
Jessie had many many talents and skills too. One of them being writing, she however was very educated therefore she was good at , poems, books, scripts you name it Jessie could write it.

After high school Jessie wanted so badly to go to Bryn Mawr College but they denied to accept their first black student. She was determined to be successful therefore, clinging onto college she decided to continue her path and go to a different university.
Onto a beautiful college called Cornell University where she was given a scholarship. Oh sweet little Jessie did very excellent there and did not regret it on bit.

Cornell taught her so much. Like how to stand up for yourself, continue with your dreams, and to never give up or let the color of your skin stop you from doing anything that you want to do.

The things that Jessie had learned at Cornell helped her succeed in life and turned her into the woman she became. She even joined Phi Beta Kappa. Jessie always kept that knowledge in the back of her head and she would never forget what she learned.
It was always a dream to become a teacher, after college Jessie applied to be a teacher in Philadelphia.

This red bricked school, Almighty Southwest. This school was primarily an all white school but of course Jessie didn't care it was in her best interest to stay close to home. But the moment she walked into this school she could've sworn it was as if she walked into a glass of milk.

Still of course that did not stop her, she walked into the administrative office proud as a lion about to grab it's prey...
