Chapter 1: The Pirates
It was Wednesday. The first Wednesday of
summer vacation. “Come on Sebastian,” said
Papi, “time to go to the beach.”
Sebastian got his bucket, his shovel, and his
beach towel. He walked with Papi, Mami, and
Samantha to the beach.

When they got to the beach, Sebastian sat on
his beach towel. He played with his bucket and
made a big sand castle. Suddenly, Sebastian
saw a boat out of the corner of his eye.
“Papi,” called Sebastian, “what is that?” But,
Papi didn’t hear him.
The boat came closer. “Oh no!” thought
Sebastian, “what if it is a band of pirates that
has come to get me!”

Sebastian watched the boat get closer and saw that his
prediction was right. It was a boat full of pirates and
they were coming to get him. A tall pirate hopped out of
the boat.
“Are you ready for an adventure?” asked Captain
Aaargh.
“I am,” said Sebastian, “oh yes! I am! But I have to ask
Papi first.”
“Ok,” said the Captain.
Sebastian waved at Papi and Papi waved good-bye. “OK
Captain,” said Sebastian, “let’s go!”

Sebastian climbed onto the pirate boat. He
met all the pirates. They were very dirty. He
met the parrot named Stuart.
“Hello,” said Sebastian.
“Hello,” said the parrot named Stuart.

“Where are we going?” Sebastian asked
Captain Aaargh.
“We are going to Nepal and China and Bali and
Lima,” said Captain Aaargh. “We are going to
bring gold to all the children around the world
because a long time ago, pirates stole gold,
but we are good pirates, so we give the gold
back.”

It took 243 days, but Sebastian and the Pirates
sailed around the world. They visited Lima,
Peru and Bali, an island, and the Great Wall of
China, and the top of a tall mountain in Nepal
and sailed on the backs of alligators in Brazil.
Each place they visited, they gave the children
treasure chests full of gold.
"Thank you!" called the children when they
sailed away.

On the 244th day, Captain Aaargh sailed the
pirate ship back to Chicago. “Here is the last
treasure chest,” he said to Sebastian. “Can you
give it to the children in Chicago?”
“Ay ay Captain,” said Sebastian.
And he did.
The End

Chapter 2: The Zoo
It was the last day of summer vacation.
“Can we please go to the zoo,” asked
Sebastian.
“Okay,” said Papi.
They walked to the Lincoln Park Zoo.

At the zoo, Sebastian and Papi saw lions,
zebras, snakes, penguins, and more animals.
They drank a lemonade and ate a pretzel.
Then, they went into the monkey house,
Sebastian’s favorite place in the zoo.
“Wait here,” said Papi, “I am going to get
another pretzel.”

“Okay,” said Sebastian. He sat down and,
before he knew it, he fell asleep.
All of the sudden, he found himself on the
wrong side of the monkey cage.
“Oh no!” said Sebastian.
