Hey guys! (This is not a copyright book. I am just making this book in Ms. Bakers perspective) The author's name is Gary D. Schmidt. My teacher assigned me and my class a book club project.

I started the Monday off with a class roll. It is my first day teaching.
" If your last name end's in berg, zog, or stein, you live on the north side. If your last name end's in elli, ini, or o, you live on the south side.", I stated. I called out Holling Hoodhood's name as I crackled. I asked him if he attends Temple Beth-El or Saint Adelbert's. He nodded his head no. He does not attend neither Hebrew School nor Catechism. So, you will be spending the Wednesday afternoons with me. He stated, "I guess, yeah. I looked hard at him. I even rolled my eyes. After, I called Mai Thi Huong, Daniel Hupfer, and Meryl Lee Kowalski. I told all of them to raise their hand if they were there. Every time I said someone's name I would

look at Holling. I finished my attendance. I was looking at Holling all day Tuesday. Later on, I asked him,
"Why don't you go out for lunch and recess? Everyone else is gone.
" He gave me his book. I stated
" You go out for recess. I will read it in here." He said,
" I am comfortable in here." Then, he went out to play. Then after lunch and recess I told everybody in the class that they will be diagramming sentences. I gave Meryl Lee, The brook flows down from the pretty mountain. I gave Daniel, He kicked the round ball into the goal, and I gave everybody else a sentence. I told Holling,
" If you were following
my instructions, you would have finished by now."
" Just as I helped Holling with the sentence, a P.A announcement came on. It said Holling has to come to the principles office, Immediately! I had to write a note that I gave a repeat test because his grade was below average. during the afternoon announcement's Mr. Guareschi stated,
" Lieutenant Tybalt Baker will soon be deployed to Vietnam with the 101st airborne Division and we should all grant him a wish. Lieutenant Tybolt Baker is my husband.
On Wednesday, at 1:45 the bus to Temple Beth-El arrived. Then, at 1:55 the bus to Saint Adelbert's arrived. After me and Holling were all alone in the classroom. We stared at each other. I made him do things like wash the chalkboards and straighten the thorndike dictionaries. I kept on making him do this for the afternoon. I told him to clean out the coat room. He did not clean out Doug Swieteck's stash. I am surprised he did not complain to pick up old lunches that had fungus on them. I looked at Holling because if he had never tripped Doug Swieteck's brother, he would still be here.

When it was time to leave on Wednesday, I stopped looking at him. I even smiled at him. I had a job for Holling. As they were dropping their stuff before recess I stated,
" Holling, there are some pastries that Ms. Bigio has made. Would you go get them for me? I let everyone else go to recess. The pastries are for the wives of the Vietnam Soldiers' gathering at Saint Adelbert's. There were twelve trays of them. Holling will have to go there twelve times. Unless he can carry two trays at a time.
" Place them by the shelf. Open the windows so they can make them less soggy", I stated to Holling.
