The Space we now live in.2
The Sun!
Billions of years ago, the sun was nothing but a large cloud of space particles that
became attracted to each other, becoming
very hot and eventually forming the sun
we see every day.
3
Mercury!Like the sun, Mercury was also made fromspace particles. These particles became
attracted to each other and later became the
planet Mercury. Unlike the sun, Mercury
was small enough for the particles to cool to
make Mercury a solid planet.
4
Venus!
Venus is a small planet covered in a layerof clouds, unlike the ones on Earth.Venus
was also created from small particles in
space that fused together to make the
planet Venus.
5
Earth!
The planet that we live on today was oncea cloud of space particles millions of years
ago. These particles fused together, making
our planet. Earth was made in almost the
exact same way as the sun, which explains
why the middle of our planet in millions of
degrees hot.
6
The Moon!
Scientists say that the moon was once part of theplanet Earth millions of years ago. An explosion
caused a large chunk of rock to hit the Earth's
surface that made a large part of the Earth come
off into space. The particles in space blended
together and became a large, hard rock that we
now call our moon.
7
Mars!Mars was formed as many space objectsclumped together. This took about 100,000
years. Mars was hit by many asteroids that
caused the craters on the planet's surface.
These changes created the planet Mars that
we study today.

8
Jupiter!
Jupiter is a gas giant planet. Jupiter wascreated by a large amount of gases and
small space objects, just like all of the
other planets.
9

Saturn!Like all the other planets, Saturn started as a large cloud of dust and gas. A disturbance in
space caused this cloud to form the planet
Saturn.
It is said that Saturn's rings used to be moons
that got too close to the planet and were
disturbed, making the shape of rings.
