The Model T is a pretty complex vehicle. It runs on gasoline, which is fed to the motor by gravity. You can pull the lever to start, and steer it with the wheel in the front. It is the perfect transportation for any common person!

Henry Ford was able to create the Model T with time and dedication. He worked irregular hours at the Edison Illuminating Company, so he had plenty of spare time to work on his creation

There were many reasons Ford created the car. First and foremost - he had the time. He worked at Edison Illuminating Company and was on call 24 hours/day, so he had plenty of time to himself.

Another reason was because of mail. Nowadays, we have mail trucks that deliver letters and packages within days. This was not the case back in the early 1900's. Back then, mail was delivered on horseback, and could easily be lost or destroyed unintentionally. Plus, it took weeks or even months to be delivered.

Transportation was not easy back then. Renting out horses and boats was expensive and dangerous. People couldn't easily get to the store. You usually had to walk, meaning you could only travel about a mile radius from your house. When the car came along, transportation was changed forever.

Social status back then was a pretty big split. There were the rich all the way down to the homeless. The car somewhat split the rich and the poor more as well once it came out - the poor weren't able to afford it. However, after the Model T was mass produced, this was no longer an issue. It still did affect the split a little bit though.
